I am probably asking for it by bringing this topic up, but something has been bothering me for sometime now with regard to the recent events involving police and the shooting deaths of various people (blacks seem to be the headlines). There are shootings every day, wars everywhere, people getting killed left and right and yet the only time we have these riots and demonstrations seems to be when some white cop kills a black.

Why is that? Why isn't there this righteous indignation when a white cop gets killed by a black? Why are we not rioting every time a black person kills another black? Why are we so eager to wipe each other out all over this planet? Seems to be rather hypocritical of us to cry about the right to bear arms on one hand and then go out and get angry over the use of said firearms. Doesn't it? I mean you ever see a hunter get shot by an animal? Who are the animals really? Us Kats just do what nature intends us to do. Is it really in human nature to kill with impunity or to have riots when we feel we were wronged?

If everyone rioted or killed someone when they felt slighted I shudder to think of those consequences. I mean there would be nobody left to riot and whoever was rioting would never get any sleep. That is not to say that there is not injustice and unjustified killing by cops, but the answer is not going on some crazy riot spree, looting and turning over cars, setting things on fire.

Where is the outrage when you are gunning down each other in your own neighborhoods and killing innocent children and elderly bystanders just because you are in some gang? Are you the same people that riot? Are you the same ones who refuse to stick up for yourselves or refuse to even assist the cops with solving the crimes in the first place? Then you cry about the cops doing their job? How about the outrage when a black cop kills a white person?

I bet there are circumstances going on right now all over the world where some idiot is killing another for no reason?

Lets riot against killing, PERIOD!

Let's all riot together and quit drawing lines in the sand that have anything to do with race, color, creed, sexual preferences or religion!

Give humanity a chance to survive and take special care of us Kats!

Because when people are killed or abused by the people who are suppose to help and protect us, it pissses us off.

For a reason why and a reason why it isn't changing for the better, look to our leaders.

Okay lets not and while we are at it let's not kill! Could we have a peaceful demonstration? Would that be possible?

We do. The question then is why do the people keep the same leaders in place.

Many politicians think we are not killing enough people in foreign lands and ignore what goes on here.

Riots don't do much, peaceful but disruptive protest do much much more.

I am talking to you at the moment, not most of us. Where is your outrage when innocent children get caught in the crossfire?

Why is it limited to just cops? Have you ever been a cop? Where is your outrage over the killing by a drunk driver? Never mind killing, where is the outrage against religious leaders who like to spend money on frivolous items and hide their pedophile priest? What gives justification for rioting to black people because a white cop shot someone black? How come the black people don't riot when a white cop shoots a white person?

A black person is killed by a white police officer every 28 hours SOURCE

WHY

Blacks killed by police in 2014 outnumber those killed in 9/11

A talk show host, Michael Medved, stated that police kill more whites than blacks, but this is not true : SOURCE

I agree that every unjustified police shooting should get the same attention, but blacks and hispanics, to a lesser degree are targeted by police more than whites.
In NYC, in 2011, more young black men were 'stopped and frisked' than young black men live in the entire city SOURCE

You can really ask this question seriously? Do you not get out much?

Yeah well it was tongue in cheek satire when I was suggesting we all riot. I don't think rioting of any kind is justified. I do think having a peaceful protest is possible, but how can we be sure that doesn't become violent because some idiot shows up with a different agenda? I just wish the people that were doing the rioting were not such hypocrites. Killing of any kind is ridiculous, not just because some white cop crossed the line. I knew when I started this thread what was going to transpire and how they feel justified in their behavior because by golly cops are there to protect us.

Well peace worked in the past.

MLK is rolling over in his grave.

Peaceful movements have always been the most effective.

Ask this guy if you could.

Yet I am stuck in a generation that preaches peace while backing terrorist and rioters. The best way to protest is to stand above the violence not demean yourself to that level.

That's great! You get 1000 people together to peacefully protest, and me and 5 other guys will wander through the crowd stirring up trouble and sowing discontent.

The media will play along for sure, and the people will never know what hit them! In just a few short minutes, we can tar the entire protest with the stain of rioter and "thug," and the TV watching, Internet "news" loving people will never know the difference.

Well I for one saw many WHITE people rioting in both Ferguson and Baltimore.. It is not just about white cops killing blacks. There is all kinds of videos and stories over the last few years of cops killing dogs, and slamming white women into the ground, and kicking a white teen in the face and so on and so on.

We are getting collectivly pissed and fed up with their abuse of power, and the killings of unarmed people just makes it boil over.

At some point, people become so angry- signs and chanting is not enough.
