A huge explosion has reportedly hit a shopping mall in Isfahan in Iran earlier on Sunday night, with hundreds of people feared dead in the blast and subsequent fires.

Witnesses have reported Revolutionary Guards and Basij forces speeding to the area.

Unconfirmed Report Of Explosions In Iran, Hundreds Reported Dead

I cannot find any official source for this news. The only one available is from this site and also debka. Honestly I can't vouch for neither and I'm not sure about how serious is debka. All I know is that was funded as an alternative news source 15 years ago. The main site though seams to refer to a local source . Checking the twitter too right now but no info so far.

Are there any suggestions as to the cause. I can't find reports anywhere. I'm praying for those poor people involved and their families.

I don't think the photo is the real one. Has been used to describe what happened. In my opinion is just an illustration. Something that is done very often in journalism.

Not when is used to illustrate. The photo is lacking the description which on a news paper would have been written right on the photo. Making its purpose a simple illustration. But since we're dealing with debka and yournewswire things are a bit different.

That is not a news site.

There was an explosion and a building is on fire. Here is a picture of what a building on fire looks like.

Journalism?

Phage you have the habit to talk to much and say nothing. I don't intend to reply back and forth with you. I said the picture was taken from the news site because yournewswire is such site (despite the seriousness). I didn't coin that source nor I care to do so.

I just said that the picture is not from what happened and explained how is used sometimes in journalism. Yes, I said journalism.

Yah, lacking the truth… the label you mention is "File Photo", and like you mentioned , its missing. Can't perp a ruse if the "evidence" is falsified, can they…
