Ah white appreciation day eh? Hey, this guy is free to do this if he pleases (which he probably knows, but is doing this to obviously get publicity). I must question though, who qualifies for white appreciation day?

What if you're only half white? Do you still celebrate white appreciation day?
What about the fact that there's no such thing as the 'white race' or a white ethnic group? We have the caucasian human group which consists of Europeans, middle easterners and to some extent northern indians. So if an Iranian guy walks in, does he get acknowledged as a white person? I doubt it.

There's also the fact that there are already white appreciation days. Like Italians celebrating or the Irish.... Germans having their days... So for give me if I'm alittle confused as to what exactly this day is meant for, and to whom.

As for Blacks having their own days, well it's understandable. African americans came here as slaves, they had no way of preserving their individual ethnic cultures as white migrants did. So there's really no comparison.

Putting all the above aside, go crazy and celebrate being white if that rocks your boat.

Well, it does say that he is of "Mexican" descent...so I can't see how this is racism. Furthermore. I may not make any friends saying this, but if there can be black history month, an International Womens day...where they can convince themselves on a yearly basis that they are minorities, despite the fact that they pretty much manage men everywhere nowdays, win every child support battle and never have to report to the courts for responsibility.

There are a few others using the affirmative action card to continually get ahead in the world, while their constituents in "suffering" manipulate the media to try to convince the public that it's not happening. I would like to see a day for the under-appreciated white male. I am not talking about the KKK, any of the elites like George Bush, Al Gore or the myriad of white men that work in the banks robbing the blacks, whites, men and women. I am talking about your average white male, who never gets a break, works 2 jobs....one to pay for the family he now has...and one to pay the ex-wife who got everything in court, be it alimony or child support. Black men have been oppressed, as well as most black women and they deserve their day..the others? I am not so sure.

I think whites in general, should not be afraid to be proud of their race and we should not have to apologize, just because members of our race has certain "groups" that specifically hate another race. After all, yes we have the KKK...but Black people have the Black Panthers, Crypts, Bloods and many other hate groups just like whites have. Why is it then that they get to have Black History month.....and we as whites, are supposed to be ashamed of our race? Blacks kill whites and whites kill blacks...but history and race doesnt define a whole people......the jerks within those races define themselves.

I will speak of the elephant in the room, when I speak of women and white men....the white men are the ones being oppressed today, and most are afraid to say anything because the first day in court did not work out so well.

So whether it's race, gender or just outright media lies....whites, blacks and "decent" women who really do work every day and NOT fall into that feminist propaganda.......we should all be proud of our nationality, color, gender and we should all have a holiday.

PS. Can't get mad at me either. If you look at mu photo to the left...I am neither man nor woman, black nor white....I am more of a grayish color really. Which is black and white mixed so...you know.

As a white person, we don't need any form of an appreciation day. Tally up all the white protagonists in books, movies, TV shows and video games versus any that are a person of colour and the ratio is outrageously skewed to one side.

Jews, Greeks, Russians, Polish..etc. I am sure they have their own days to celebrate.

So in a sense yeah they have their special days..so get over it...Being white is not a culture.

I bet I know what it's about... Given all the other factors, running a restaurant, guy who came up with it isn't exactly white by most standards...

Who is most likely to tip the wait staff? C'mon, be honest about it. And that's what they appreciate about that group of customers.

Then neither is being black. I worked with this one "black guy" who said he wasn't afro-American...he was Jamaican. And obviously there are many other dark skinned people from other nations, etc. So you are right...if there is no black culture then there is no white culture. But good luck getting the black public to let go of that one. It is too lucrative for them and their "leaders".

I call discrimination against senior, and military discounts...But seriously, I tend to dislike favoritism on any level, the discount gets me...If he just held the appreciation day with no discounts thats ok, but if he discounts whites, he should offer a black discount, and an all other races discount. but then the "all other races" would feel discriminated against. If you try to please them all, you end up pleasing none...Its just so hard to win in our politically correct world. I say screw the world and retreat into nature. Less problems(people) to encounter.

White is not so much as culture, as it is a "people". If black is black people (various shades), yellow is Asian people, red is Native people, light brown is Latino people (although there are many shades of all)....you cannot deny that there are millions and millions of white people in this world.....what shall we call ourselves? All of these have what they can call a culture...except white people.

We were all born in this world the same, and we all have ancestors back to the beginning. Just because there are lots more white people that have various interchangeable cultures...such as Irish, Scottish, European etc. doesn't mean that we are still not white people.....yes, we should collectively have our own culture, and have pride in that as a white people. It only sounds racist to say that because we are supposed to be ashamed what certain ancestors have done, therefore we should give everyone today an affirmative action card, whose ancestors lost their wars (or feminists, which are getting rewarded for a time in which they did not live .)

That said I should not, and do not feel ashamed for something that I personally was not a part of, and I have enough sins of my own to carry....I sure as H3ll will not carry the sins of people who died hundreds of years ago. I have Black friends, white friends, Asian friends and friends of all ethnic persuasions, colors and creeds. No one should feel guilty to be proud of their color and all should celebrate. All the Hate Crimers out there...should simply be arrested and forgotten. As for "getting over it". There is nothing to get over.

I agree. Every bit of this affirmative action is hypocritical favoritism.I suspect that its really just politically motivated strategy, designed to keep Black people and White people reminded of a time when things were hateful, and as for feminism...its to make men jealous, to put women in power (managers) over men (just look around the next time you walk into your office job...and count the female to male managers), so that men will be taught to be weak and subjugated. Why?

Because if men are taking orders from women, are subjugated to women, and always fearful that women are going to take them to court and take everything they own, including their children...then men will "behave"...and then if the government tries to take our weapons, our rights, or pull a police state on us, who then will then stand up and fight for America....a bunch of weak-wristed men who take orders from women? No, there will be no one left to fight for our country.

That is why we have the affirmative action card, and for no other reason. Let's call out the big elephant in the room. Why should there even be an affirmative action card if it's not politically motivated? Not one of us today was a slave, not one woman living today is oppressed by a man ...at least in the normal sense, and I get it, there are some jerks out there, but then again, there are 'WAY MORE' women out there holding men hostage for child support and alimony, where men actually get put in prison (actually physically oppressed) as a result of a vindictive woman, who took him to the cleaners and oppresses him when he cannot afford to even get his own apartment to live in, thus cannot afford to pay her every now and then. THAT is oppression!

No man wins in court against women, this is common knowledge, no matter what the media says, and no woman has a responsibility to even pay half of the child support and report to a District Attorney, hence...she ever goes to jail. They can't say that raising the child is more responsibility, because its the man who is paying the child support, and I have two girls of my own...and it's really not that hard. It's sacrifice, but if you are not selfish...its not hard.

Affirmative action is the people of today, getting paid actual rewards, for the suffering of those who died actually being oppressed or abused. It's governmental favoritism and political strategy designed to destroy our country, and to tear the strong American family fabric apart.....and its working like a charm. As for me, I am proud to be white, and I am proud to be a man...I will never let any politics or illusory agenda abrogate that either.

I'm not American so I wont pretend to understand, but why the hell do any of these racially based holidays exist. These in themselves are racist propositions. "holidays" like these will only perpetuate the problem, create the division, highlighting differences which shouldn't ever be brought to attention as to do so is in itself racism. Scrap them all, and only a positive outcome will/should result.

Considering we are a secular government, Christmas and Easter never should have been a Federal holiday in the first place.

Making them secular by relabeling them as Winter and Spring break corrects a wrong.
