Man who slashed fire hose in Baltimore arrested/charged

Good. That was one of the more disturbing images. I can't believe someone would actually puncture a firehose, risking lives tasked with saving lives.

Deputy State Fire Marshals have charged Greg Bailey (22) after determining he was the suspect responsible for intentionally damaging a charged water supply fire hose during active fire suppression operations at the CVS store location at 2509 Pennsylvania Avenue on Monday, April 27, 2015.

Bailey was already being detained at the Baltimore City Detention Center on unrelated charges. An arrest warrant was served to him today while waiting on bond review before the Court Commissioner. He was charged with: Obstructing Firefighting Operations, Malicious Destruction of Property and Reckless Endangerment.

Oh big surprise right?

Throw the book at him. The guy is a complete POS, and I have a sneaking suspicion rehabilitation is not going to work.

Agreed OP. Never been a fan of police but firefighters are great people attempting to keep us safe sometimes at the cost of their own lives. Im all for protesting, but slashing a fire hose isn't that.

Fire hoses are used for saving lives.
They are paid for by tax dollars.
I have no pity for this guy.

No idea. It certainly isn't all of the protesters, but the 10% or so that flip out really flip out.

I think it's a combination of things that lead to actions like this.

I think a lot of those people are pissed about a ton of different things going on in their lives, then they glom on to some case they can somewhat identify with, and use that as an excuse to act out. Then there are just assholes like this guy.

Here he is ,Baltimores finest, gas mask and all. He must be choking on smoke because they can't put the fires out..

I hope his house catches fire with him it...and they use the hose he cut...

Just speculation on my part, but looters and those that wish to conduct violence will have a choice the next time an opportunity presents itself.

1. They can avoid doing criminals acts because they know that police will look at the video.

2. They will cause harm to any and everyone filming so that they can continue criminal acts unimpeded.

It's an us vs them mentality. They see the hose as a tool to stop their protests/fun. If I was 10-12 years old I would not care for the consequences of my actions as I would only see the fun/destruction in it. And I have not been oppressed by local police forces. Guys a twat with a child mentality by he deindividualised and knows there is a strong chance he won't get caught out in the crowd

I totally agree, Domo. Fireman aren't the enemy and destruction of property has nothing to do with peaceful protests. This guy is scum no matter how you slice it and I hope he is in jail a LONG time.
