I will say the same thing about Christians that I say about gays - they are a very diverse group. There are liberal Christians, moderate Christians and conservative Christians. There are gay Christians and straight Christians. There are peaceful loving Christians, and there are hateful mean-spirited Christians. Like gays, they are just people.

Don't try to make out like every Christian out there is a saint, and I won't try to make out like every Christian is hateful and bigoted. Deal? I WILL call out the hateful and bigoted Christians though, just like I call out the hateful LGBT supporters who threaten violence on anyone. Violence is never the answer, except in self-defense.

I know you say 64% of Democrats are Christians, but most Americans don't follow the news, unfortunately, and vote based on family history or the latest MSM darling of the day.

They don't realize that the Democratic leadership has
in very subtle ways declared war on Christians.

The LGBT community is solidly Democratic and is
one of the Democratic Party's darlings.
Read my previous post please, they are
"out hunting" Christians to put out of business,
the evidence is there with the Pizza parlor.

Obama himself has said that the US
is no longer a Christian nation.
You may claim it never was,
but the main reason many people came to
the US at first was to escape religious persecution.

The Democratic Party has distanced itself from
Christians and aligned itself with values that
are opposed to Christian values. It's just that
the 64% of Christian Democrats don't realize it
yet.

Democratic leaders have publicly made
fun of people who
"cling to their Bibles"
so don't tell me the leadership of the Democratic
Party cares about Christians, their actions
tell me otherwise.
Ted Cruz was wrong to say what he did,
but at least he made it clear that he stands
with Christians and not against them.

Without evidence, you are just making this up to fill your Christian persecution complex. Y'all outnumber every other religion by a large margin and still pretend like your values are under assault by all the other belief systems which are barely represented in the country. Most of the time when Christians bring up this "war on Christianity" it usually pertains to some system or custom that Christians interjected into the government and it requires secularists to get rid of it.

The LGBT community is solidly Democratic and is
on the the Democratic Parties darlings.
Read my previous post please, they are

The LGBT community is Democratic because the Republicans actively create laws that inhibit their rights. Why would you support a party that seeks to infringe on your rights as a human being? Also your "out hunting Christians" remark is again sensationalism.

Obama himself has said that the US
is not longer a Christian nation.
You may claim it never was,

It never was a Christian nation. By the way, religious persecution isn't just limited to Christian persecution. There are many LGBT's that are also religious and many that are even Christian. Where are their religious rights or do they not matter to you?

The Democratic Party has distanced itself from
Christians and aligned itself with values that
are opposed to Christian values. It's just that

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever read and shows an EXTREME cognitive dissonance to maintain your faulty beliefs in being persecuted.

More cognitive dissonance. Did it ever occur to you that Left wing Christians are more capable of being looser with the Christian dogma? They can reconcile their beliefs with their politics because being nice to others is what Christianity is all about. They understand that judging homosexuals ISN'T Christian. Nah. You haven't considered this, because according to this post you seem to think these Christians are being duped by the left. Which is dumb since clearly the LGBT crowd has recognized which party supports them and which works against them. If the LGBT crowd can figure this out, surely the leftist Christians should be able to figure it out as well.

Sigh, I knew that you'd say all you did.

You obviously didn't read my previous post as I asked you to do before commenting
in which many of your "observations" are answered. (page 10 near the bottom) Meh, typical.

Ted Cruz was wrong to say what he did.

But I still contend that the Democratic Party is embarrassed by and ashamed of the Christians in their Party, but they want their votes anyway. How funny!

I love how acknowledging the idea that everyone doesn't have to be Christian is an attack on Christianity. Who would have thought that a religion that existed for 2000 years, and has billions of followers could be so fragile.

The so called war on Christianity is hilarious. Atheist are still unelectable, it's even illegal to be one in some parts of the world. it must be sooooo hard being a christian and having a tiny minority of non believers not believing. I can't imagine how much you suffer knowing everyone doesn't think like you. War is the only thing disagreement could ever be!

The hatred toward Christians is palpable in the vast majority of replies in this thread alone.
Yet most of you make fun of Christians for thinking we are hated.

Let me see:
most of the respondents spout ugly, hateful, mean things about Christians in general
and then in the next breath say we are paranoid.
Where is the cognitive dissonance?

I think you are mistaken here.

I think the issue is that too many Christians have stopped following Christ.

As has been pointed out numerous times in this thread (and correctly so), look at how many Christians divorce and remarry.

Look at how many Christians shack up before marriage.

Look at how many Christians use contraceptives.

Look at how many Christians sleep around like rutting animals.

Look at how many mainline protestant denominations have openly homosexual clergy - homosexual lesbian bishops even!

Look at how many Christians leach off the government and their fellow citizens.

This list could go on for pages.

What difference does it make to vote democrat when you go to the feel good church of Joel Osteen?

And I will continue to tell you that is just trumped up nonsense without any evidence proving it so. To be honest, Christians STILL have tons of benefits and privilege going for them in this country. For one, being a non-Christian is pretty much a guarantee that you won't make it far in politics. Sure some Atheists, Muslims, and Jews have made it to Congress, but they are still all VASTLY outnumbered by a large margin of Christians (including Democrat ones). You definitely won't ever become President if you aren't a Christian. We have NEVER had a non-Christian President. Never.

Christians are just upset that FINALLY their values and morals can be questioned by non-Christians in a legal setting. Up until recently, Christians just got their way on whatever morals or values they wanted to impose on the public then proceeded to squash all discussion to the contrary. Now, when these morals and values are questioned, y'all pretend like your religion is under attack. Except no one is telling you that you can't be Christians anymore. There are zero laws being drafted or considered that prevent any of you from being Christian. The only thing going on is government reaction to your baseless hate towards a minority class of people.

The reason there are so many anti-Christian threads on this board is YOUR fault as Christians. If y'all weren't so damn arrogant about everyone having to share your beliefs or your idea that intolerance is somehow a religious belief, people wouldn't be so hostile to your religion. Y'all bring it on yourself by feigning irreproachability.

Nope, I think 64% of all Americans are too stupid to figure out what either of the parties stand for.

Too stupid is not really the word, too uninformed is more like it.

They would rather watch Downtown Abby, or NCIS, play video games, hang out at bars,
and watch the comedy channel for their "news".

You know that most people are politically unaware in the US, and many don't care, and just vote the old family party line - which ever side that is.

The homosexualists are some of the angriest, nastiest personalities you will encounter.

Your point about compassion and care for any cause that does not directly involve genitals is spot on.

Don't sweat it.

They will continue being angry and bitter and intolerant because they know inherently that their lifestyle is immoral.

Just a heads up, Jesus would have been labeled a Socialist Progressive if he lived in our day and age. Considering his teachings and beliefs.

Well, no.

He never claimed any of that.

He claimed to be the Son of God, the Messiah.

He also claimed that a man shall leave his mother and father and cling to his wife, not his homosexual lover.

People who truly follow Christ:

-don't make judgments

-try to treat everyone how they would like to be treated

-welcome all into their communities/homes/places of employment

They're out there - they are usually the quiet ones that you don't hear about. You hear about the loud noisy pseudo Christians who judge, condemn and discriminate.

I did read your other post and lines like "But what I see is we hate Christians, " are the ones that stick out to me.

What I see as disagreement, you see as war. Do you not see the danger in that? You are framing my thought process as a war against you. People tend to respond harshly to wars. I'm not willing to concede to the notion that I'm at war with anyone because we think differently.

I like debating, I like my views challenged, I open my self up to it. I don't consider you my enemy. I value disagreement! This is why i question the psychological impact that many religions have. The victim complex in Christianity is real. Your book is full of passages that say you will be persecuted. Your leader was persecuted, early Christians were persecuted, and it shows in their way of thinking. The words they wrote down are the words of a persecuted people. Early Christians where fed to lions, the worst you've had is a fat hermit on the internet disagree with you, but you still feel the war you've read about your whole life, and project it on to me.

I don't hate Christians when I say I worry what belief in their god will make them do to me, I'm just being honest. The history that brings me comfort isn't as long. Christians do have more history treating guys like me horribly. Instead of seeing "we hate Christians" you should see "here's how Christians treat us wrong, and here's why I'm not ok with it".

To some Christians, Atheists and Gays might as well be monsters. The fact that we have to stand up for our placement in the world bothers you. It's plain to see. You want us to just shut up and go away. We are to have no say in the movement of society. If we do speak, you jump instantly into war. You are the one who doesn't realize you've been bamboozled, not me. I'm not willing to frame this as a war.

Wrong.

I rail against religion in politics. All and any.

America is a secular government.
