There's also an interesting part about the explanation of them saying they deliberately try to distract and redirect any criticism of Russia and Putin by pointing out the actions of the evil West in the past.
They stick to the same denials and accusations and just repeat the same nonsense over and over again.
There's also suggestion that they attempt to seem as though they're American or British and very unhappy with their own country.

It should also be noted that this is mostly for the Russian audience and not the outside world. Putin is absolutely terrified of opposition (interesting articles out there now talking about his experience in Germany during the collapse of the Berlin wall and his fears about people power) and will make it his mission to prevent any revolt from within. He viewed the Russian government as incredibly weak during that and was almost begging the Kremlin to send in tanks.

He thinks he can use propaganda to keep the people in-line, and persuade others to his way of thinking, and this is seen by his meddling in the media of other countries too. Most notably there are Lithuanian journalists currently working on an expose of how the Kremlin tried to recruit them into writing propaganda about how great it would be to become Russian, and how terrible life would be alongside Europe. That plan obviously didn't work, and is about to backfire spectacularly.

Some are suggesting that the notion of Putin invading other countries is silly, but Lithuania is not stupid. They have already begun planning to fight against any invasion by Russia, which would likely be another repeat of what Putin did in Ukraine, using propaganda and the "Russian speakers" and military disguised as "Rebels" when in reality they would be just coming in from Kaliningrad.

There are some idiots here who are just so anti-American they will side with any despot, but I do think the majority of the pro-Russian posters are nothing more than paid Kremlin trolls.

Lets see . 40 rooms x 20 per room x 135 posts = 108,000 x 5 days a week =540,000 x 52 weeks = 28,080,000 per year .

I am not a shill (too wealthy to be one) but if this world sucks that much that we need a shill to point out US did 9/11 and myriad of other things like creating ISIS

Then I will befriend that shill if he is the only one bold enough to say it.

That's the second time you've claimed I said something that I haven't. No where did I ever say that I want the US to have shills. THIS topic is about Russian shills being bought and paid for by the Russian government. They exist. The story describes how they are paid to work in sets of threes; what the code words are that they use; and their tactics. Yes, that is probably a lowball figure. They work in teams to avoid running into conflict with rules. For example, if you edit an article on Wikipedia more than twice in a single day, you will automatically be declared engaging in an "edit war" and be temporarily banned from posting. A Russian Troll.team can delete awkward facts or post blatant lies six times a day. Many Wikipedia editors have gotten fed up trying to compete. Wikipedia can no longer be trusted when covering Eastern Europe. Sad, but true.

I was hoping for a more chronological ,picture of this shill .Other then the chewing gum thing there wasn't much there . Rather then a knee jerk reaction I recall ATS had something in play . Maybe it was something different but it had to do with groups working together . If the numbers of posts are correct then I don't see them having much effect . There are few good quality pro-Russian comments on most new's pieces . Usually just vulgar back and forth bickering .
