There is as much evidence for the existence of Unicorns, Fairies, Giants and elves existing as there is for God. Do you still believe in them? If not, then why not?

This morning as I was eating my cereal the box started talking to me, I heard a voice in my head. It told me that it was the creator of the universe and told me to write a book. If this situation had indeed taken place and I had written a book, and I managed to get a few hundred believers would you laugh at my beliefs? Would you think that my beliefs were ridiculous and just write me off as another crazy high on bath salts?

I must ask, how many threads there are on this forum that compare a cereal box to God?

i've been telling women walking out of church "god wants you to flash me!" for years but i am always dismissed.

Philippians 2:13 “It is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”

You see? i have really no say in the matter

If your cereal box told you to raise an army of citizens to overthrow the government, and told you exactly how to achieve it, there might be quite a few people that would take your cereal box very seriously.

Honest politicians can also be added to your list of hard-to-prove things.

All hail the one, true and almighty cereal box.

Before we know it, there will be splits and tears in the religion, arguing over the true nature of the cereal box's contents. Is it Special K or Froot Loops?

How does the fact that some believe in God negatively affect you?
Honest question.

First point out where I said it negatively affected me.

The difference is, people know a Unicorn isn't real. Whereas there are many historic accounts for figures like the man we know as "Jesus". It's not really comparable in that sense. While we don't know if Jesus actually performed miracles or not, there are many many accounts of his existence. Unicorns, not so much.

Sorry, I assumed that with your post looking to discredit religion.

I have asked this before to different people and just want to understand. If you have no belief in God, what motivates you to wish to ask others to question their belief? Why would you even care?

Again, honest question.

Most of the world insists that gods are real. Think of all the decisions that are based on that unproven idea. Think of all the time people put into worship or prayer. All of the savage laws that come from various religions around the world. What about all the people who have been and will be killed because of what religious texts teach.

In short, what other people think, affects me, you, and everybody else. When their ideas are unproven and unprovable, but are so far reaching, and control so many people, and impact the world so negatively, i want to expose the utter stupidity these ideas promote. There is no positive side of propagating a lie this big.

You didn't mention it in your OP, but I"m going to assume it was the lucky box of charms.

I know this because that leprechaun has been talking to me for years. He's actually not too bad once you get to know him, don't let him freak you out.
