When Ukrainian army officers came to the Ukrainian village of Velikaya Znamenka to tell the men to prepare to be drafted, they weren’t prepared for what happened next. As the commanding officer was speaking, a woman seized the microphone and proceeded to tell him off: "We’re sick of this war! Our husbands and sons aren’t going anywhere!" She then launched into a passionate speech, denouncing the war, and the coup leaders in Kiev, to the cheers of the crowd.

So this lady speaks for the rest of them.....Was she speaking Russian at the time. It seems both sides are messed up this time and all they can do is clutch at straws to keep the people in the fight.
East = West........Military industrial complex......War is an industry.

With only 6% draft success the population is clearly against the war.
No weapon supplies are going to make up for not having enough soldiers to fight and that can only be replaced with mercenaries from surrounding countries.

Quite a few in Kiev see violence as the best way to deal with the Ukrainian separatists.
Although Poroshenko had solicited for arms and military aid from NATO countries at the Munich Security Conference like never before, which is usually rather the line of his pro-American head of government Arseny Yatsenyuk, in the end, Poroshenko advocated the EU course: a diplomatic solution to the crisis - without arms supplies from the West.
However, the hawks around Poroschenko prevent him from any concessions to the rebels at the peace talks in Minsk, as commentators stress.
Ukrainian Nationalists already accuse their President of treason because of the loss of territory.

I wouldn't sign up to fight for that new government, one that was not started by the people but overthrew the other government. This new government was never voted on by the people. It appears more corrupt than what they had before.
You fight for the people of your country, not a few people who seized power. Ukrainians aren't dumb.

Heard this a.m. on CNBC that a number of high ranking Ukrainian government types are signaling that it may be time to concede the easter/russian speaking provinces to Russia.
According to the left-leaning Russian daily newspaper Novaya Gazeta, which cited officials within the Kremlin, sources within the cabinet of ministers and pro-Russian insurgents, Russia has abandoned the idea of either war-torn region becoming an independent state, instead preferring that both remain autonomous regions within Ukraine.

Charged on 31 January 2012 with illegally transferring land, Avakov was placed on the international wanted list of Interpol on 21 March 2012.[7] He was detained in Frosinone (Italy) late March 2012.[7] An Italian court placed him under house arrest as a preventive measure on 12 April 2012.[8] In October 2012, Avakov was elected into the Ukrainian parliament on the party list of "Fatherland" (number 24 on this list).[7][9][10] This led to a court ruling on 10 December 2012 that canceled the restriction measures against him (detention and a warrant for his arrest).[6] He returned to Ukraine the next day, on 11 December 2012.[7][6]
