"The CEO of Foxconn has indicated that he wants to make a lot of robots to reduce the hiring of workers. Currently Foxconn has 1.3 million workers. They are one of the largest private employers in the world."

So here's our future moving faster and faster towards us, do we have any real future in manufacturing if we can all just go to the 3d printer store and get a new device printed up on demand? It seems these business models seem doomed to the same outcome as horse whip manufactures.

Moving all manufacturing to third world countries to use slave labour to make everything, how is the largest consumer of all the trinkets going to keep buying them? The problem only gets worse if you replace all human labour with robots.

A service based economy seems destined to fail. We are all going to end up living in cardboard boxes, working 8 part time jobs to pay rent on a 2 square foot area to keep our box in this keeps up lol.

Damned if I know what those 8 part time jobs will be, seeing as all the jobs are now replaced with robots. Polishing robots maybe?

No they are using robots because there was an uproar with their employees killing themselves to get out of their slave labor....his little schpeel was BS and trying to distract from the real reason

Im always astounded that when evil capitalism is brought up, Apple and their over seas manufacturers, whose conditions are so bad they have to put up suicide nets ,isnt added to that list......

It has all the #iness of outsourcing combined with all the #iness of automation and none of the benefits. Figures it was bound to happen.
