Yep, a newly disovered 300+ meter dangerous asteriod has been found that could spell the end of life on this planet. Will it hit us or pass by without incident. Well the scientists have got 3 years to find out.

Scientists have calculated that 2014 UR116 asteroid will fly in dangerous proximity to Earth every three years. If it collides with the planet the energy of the explosion could be a thousand times greater than the impact of the Chelyabinsk meteorite.

Vladimir Lipunov, a leading scientist on the team which discovered the asteroid this October, says the scientists now know its orbit and its period which is 3 years, but they cannot say precisely when the asteroid will approach the Earth. “We should track it constantly. Because if we have a single mistake, there will be a catastrophe.

The consequences can be very serious,” he said in the documentary “Asteroids attack” posted on Roscosmos website. The new asteroid, called 2014 UR116 is about 370 meters in diameter. Its size exceeds the famous Apophis which the Earth can meet in the next decade. The exact trajectory of 2014 UR116 is yet to be determined, but theoretically it may collide with the Earth, Mars or Venus. Its trajectory can fluctuate because of the gravitational pull of these planets.

3 years....I can live with that. Well, they only have 1 time a year to check and adjust their trajectory calculations for the next couple years so I guess we will find out soon just how close it will come!

DOOM ON!

Yup, sounds like a nasty burger...I like the way you have the thread in Fragile Earth BTW

That Russian robotic telescope system sounds good, creating its own database as well, as the spiel goes.
I must look and see what other sources are saying.

2014 UR116
Needs a better name if we're going to have it coming around so often.....

Something memorable.

There has been a lot of speculation about an upcoming major impact in this century. I c an't say they're unfounded.

The finest terror pornography right there thanks!

Seriously though i really do think this is slow roll disclosure (for Planet X) and its' orbiting debris field which will contain plenty of these objects and will indeed pass by soon ish?

Like i said, i'm thinking that many of these meteorites originate in the orbiting debris field of PX,just like the one in Russia last year..coming from the glare of the sun as well..hmmm! there has certainly been an exponential increase in impacts (the trends show this) one interesting thought,is the fact that Earth is mainly water..just think how many have hit that weren't recorded and yet still the charts show a shocking increase.

Sleep well!
