Are the people from Israel descendants of Isaac or Ishmael? Posible switch of positions?

From Isaac will come many nations(Israel) which is the archetype of ALL of mankind (many nations).Isaacs genetic decedents have not existed as the 12 tribes for almost 3 thousand years. The nation of Israel(12 tribes) split around 930-920 BCE when 10 tribes refused to acknowledge Israel under the rulership of Solomons son Rehoboam as king into the Northern tribes(Israel) and the Southern tribe (Judah).The Northern tribes(10 tribes) retained the name Israel because Ephraim(Josephs youngest son) was given the birthright by Jacob (Israel) over the firstborn Reuben(the first will be last and the last will be first).

“Genetic”Israelites have been assimilated into “all” nations now for almost 3 thousand years.Present day Israel is Judah…it is not Israel and it is very doubtful they are descendants of genetic Judah either.In other words this much ado about nothing.Israel is and has always been ALL of mankind.Israel are “the chosen people/nation) of the creator God… not and extinct nation.

Well there is a simple answer to the question here. Everybody is an Israelite now. Read the prophesies of Genesis 48 and 49. According to them by the time the world gets to the end times the tribes of Israel were to become nations. And Ephraim was supposed to become a multitude of nations.

Also you have the Romans 11 complication to consider here as well. Per the olive tree parable the Israelites were cut off the tree of life and the Christians were grafted in. But the question there is what is the tree of life? It's the family tree of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Essentially Christians are ADOPTED Israelites.

So combining the genetic and adoption aspects here means that everybody pretty much is an Israelite now. There are no more Ismaelites anymore. The Israelites are the Borg and you have been assimilated.

Wow!! I cannot believe so many of you are so far off on this one.

It is obvious in Galatians Chaper4 that Paul s talking about the Olde Testament and the New Testament.

Ishmael is the Olde Testament and Issac is the New Testament.

Paul goes on to state that the Olde Testament is Mt. Sinai in Arabia.. from whence we get the Ten Commandments...and Pertains to Hagar...and Ishmael...and is in Bondage with her children.

The lineage of the Christians is though JesusChrist...through Isaac.and his seed..singular....one seed..not seeds as of many but seed as of one.


What this passage from Galatians chapter4 is saying is that those under Olde Testament law.are in bondage with their children....Jerusalem which is above is free and the mother of us all..not the Jerusalem which now is.

The only lineage which counts from the OldeTestament to the NewTestament..is that of Jesus Christ.
