Psychopaths 'Should be Put in Charge after Nuclear War' - Secret Government Report

The post-apocalyptic aftermath of a nuclear war could have been even bleaker by having cold-blooded psychopaths in charge of the leftovers of society, it has been revealed.

Newly released secret documents reveal the British government was advised in 1982 to install psychopaths in positions of authority, in the event of a shattering nuclear war.

The documents reasoned that emotionally dead, calculating people with zero empathy for other people or any moral code, would be exactly what was needed by a society trying to rebuild itself after an A-bomb apocalypse.

Unsurprisingly, the suggestion by Home Office scientist Jane Hogg failed to find much – or indeed any – support in the corridors of power.

Interestingly, research indicates people with psychopathic character traits are disproportionately to be found in the upper echelons of the corporate world.

So they planned to keep the same game going, well, no surprise here.

I don't recall a nuclear war happening, yet the psychopaths are well and truly in control.

This was incredibly bad reporting.

The story is that one civil servant during a large wargame planning session for how to cope in the aftermath, made a suggestion that maybe recruiting psychopaths should be an option, and the suggestion was instantly shot down and never even included as an option for the wargame.

So no, there was no plan to recruit psychopaths. There was no official advise they should be put in positions of authority. In fact the official line was that this was a terrible idea, and it was forgotten about.

Not only but they will only hire other psychopaths to subjugate other countries for them. See Syria and Ukraine, two projects currently being undertaken.

I think he was being a class clown. You know... Satirical humor? Or he was serious. I'm choosing the one that doesn't make absolutely no sense.

Alrighty then. No need to panic unless the sociopaths get restless. I think (I hope) they meant to say sociopaths in those "newly released secret documents" because the reason for singling out psychopaths is usually hereditary. For example, the Bush dynasty.

It would be up to large percentages of the population to make arms and defeat them. Defeat those goons. I want people to stand up to the ones in now, not ever budging or following bad orders, but peacefully unless they simply start taking out all the people instead of stepping down. However, in a post disaster, sorry man. No more.

Well, maybe they are right...from their point of view of course. These 'elite' do not have to carry the responsebillity when the door need to be kept closed when civillians are knocking on their hermetic sealed bunker door because they need shelter. This way they can also blame this psychopath when questions are asked for the brutal actions performed in this time of despair. And in best case senario the 'elite' survivors used a blunt tool to see the next day..

I'd say the psychopaths would have to already be in control for there to have been a shattering nuclear war in the first place.

Clinical psychopaths are a reality of human existence. 3% of all males, and 1% of all females, if not more, are psychopathic. Being a psychopath doesn't make you a murderer, although murderers can be psychopaths.

But with them being a reality on this planet, it would seem to me that we should find ways to leverage their unique mindset for the benefit of their brethren.

In the case of this report, however....no. We don't need to be led by psychopaths any more than we already are.

Brits are really inyo psychopaths for some reason. They believe whole heartedly in the hare checklist. A psycopath is tge last thing you want to be diagnosed as in the UK.. unless nuclear war I guess, then they know exactly where the leaders are: broadmoore.

Americans aren't into psychopaths? What happens over there? You lock them up?

15-20% of our prisons are filled with them

That isn't actually what the plan was - they weren't going to have "psychopaths in charge", but rather have them fill the role of law enforcers as they would be least likely to crumble under the stress of seeing such devastation and death, because they do not feel empathy, do not feel fear in the same way and do not connect with society, meaning they would actually be able to cope better and maintain order. As others have said, being a psychopath doesn't mean your some serial killer.

Anyway, if you actually read more about this war game that was played, the idea of using psychopaths was quickly squashed very early in the planning stage of the game, so really this is a total non-story.

Not really, nope. You are talking about criminals not paychopaths. The UK locks people up much longer if they are diagnosed sociopaths than they would be (generally for whatever crime brought them to attention of the law).

Do some research on it. You will see.

No, that is their job, to think outside the box, and try to cover every scenario and every possibility. If they were the only one to think of it then they are probably pretty good at their job.
