Words

Some people use weapons to win a fight,
Not knowing that if you say them just right,
Words are sharper then a ninja's sword,
You can wound a person with the right words.

They slice just as deeply, can make a man kneel,
Give you wounds that never will heal.
Lift someone to greatness, or cause him to fall,
Words are the most powerful weapons of all.

They can be beautiful, touch your inner core,
Make you change who you are, want to be more.
They can lift you higher than the stars in the sky,
Inspire you to do something, make you want to try.

The last words that a man speaks before he dies,
Saying everything he wanted to when he was alive,
Knowing that his words won't fall on deaf ears,
Are the most beautiful words his family can hear.

A young child who is just learning the art,
Is so endearing with the wisdom they impart.
The pure honesty given from someone so small,
Not yet knowing how to be tactful at all.

Be careful when you choose your words,
Make sure they are right before they are heard.
Do not use them to make someone else fall,
For you wield the most powerful weapon of all.
