Thanks if you can help, and this has happened before so I though I'd make a thread in case it happens again.

I hit a key or keys and now my top bar (on Wikipedia, for example, I can't even go to the 'edit' button) and bottom bar (where my time and sound level, etc., live) are missing. I turned the computer off, and on restart it's the same. Does anyone have an easy solution for what you may see as a minor problem? Thanks again.

Are you talking about your browser bars? If so hit F11

Yep, that worked. I just didn't know about it (hence the thread so I can remember). Thank you very much! (for something you probably know a four-year old can do in her sleep).

I myself am going to 'reply' as I had that problem a few months back and I don't know the shortcut to fix it as Heff supplied

Will book mark it for use later, as I'm sure me and my fumbling fingers will do something weird like that again

My fingers are always hitting weird combinations that will prompt something to come up on the screen and I haven't the foggiest idea what I hit for it to do it ... *sigh*

I'm just winging it by the seat of my pants when it comes to computer stuff. LOL

I mashed some keys the other day and turned my screen sideways! I though oh well ill google how to fix it but of course all the mouse movements were rotated 90 degrees which was a challenge lol

Glad I'm not alone in my lack of computer 101 knowledge. Hit F11 and all your problems go away, who knew it would be that easy? (and PhoenixOD, turning your screen sideways, I don't know what I'd do if that happened. Was it an easy fix?)
