Now just how do we get to that number unless a whole lot of people die? Eliminate them?

1 child per couple with heavy financial penalties for those that break it. The Chinese had some success with that.

The population needs to be reduced but you could also do by limiting 2 children per couple but that would take a lot longer to reduce the population.

I see a world government as impossible in this era, it is generations away.

If and when it was set up it could operate like the United States with the current nations being like our states, so they would have a limited ability to tailor their local laws to fit current cultural differences between the 'states'.

The Chinese only had success with that because of the brutality they used enforcing it. Have you looked into it? The abandoned baby girls, the brutal forced abortions, and now the horribly lopsided population demographics they have? They have many young men who will never find a wife because of the cultural value Chinese place on sons. Not only that, but because of the rapid shrinkage of the population, Chinese elders who rely on their children to care for them face abandonment and abuse because the child is not able to care for them in their old age like children used to be able to.

I'd really rather not go down that route.

I've been saying for some time that I am pro-one world government. There are a lot of caveats that go along with such a statement, but I just wanted to jump in and support your idea, op.

There is Alien interests in Earth and that is enough to cause global unification.

There will be a strict code of who can and cannot leave this rock tho.

Earth will be turned into a Utopia for the meek to enjoy, With everything being automated. A tenth of the world population will be Drafted into Space Marine programs.

As we mine asteroids and nearby planets for materials we will build space fleets. Go deeper into space and find exotic materials. Build better space fleets.

Use these space fleets to defend Earth and recover Alien artifacts and technologies.

Sometime later multipul solar systems are identified as being prime for settling. As well as the possibility of reuniting with humans stranded on other planets * Possibility*

Obviously the people running the current governments don't have the balls, Or the drive to man up and run the show.
Why? Because Aliens. Always a downer when it comes to be X amount of thousands of years in advance.

I however think humans were created by an Advanced species that Uses humans as their method of reproduction.
Though energy transhumanism. Skip the process of becoming a machine altogether and go straight to being a living thought form. Which is the ultimate Boon humanity could ever obtain. And also the Ultimate threat to lesser species who are cut out from this deal and remain robotic or biological in nature.

First create a system where all get what they deserve in material thing and and services and where living of other peoples work without doing real work yourself is not allowed. No pyramid ponzi schemes like the banking system or oligopol and monopoly allowed. Like effort/time economy systems where people cannot steal each others efforts. No trickle up crap (power/wealth) no matter how good bull#er the person is about his/hers so called extreme worth.

Then have the people that now have food and basics choose locally what kind of society they want to have and allowed people to move to places that have the rules they want sharing the space on the planet so that humanity is equally spread out.

Create one law that binds all regions. If any person want war with another region and cannot work out the differences by symbiotic discussion then they are going to the insane asylum until they are more stable and not a threat to humanity.

Elitists normally want power and control, this is done by dividing and conquering, in making countries, forming identities, national goals etc and countries are much easier to rule than continents, hence there will always be nations with individual identities and there will always be countries.

Any 'one world government' is just another way of saying there is an elite above the elite governing countries pulling the strings.

What's the point of letting people spread out to find a space where they can live in a group they want to live in if you just then go ahead and force them all into one unifying law system anyhow? Kind of defeats the purpose of letting everyone choose I think.

One world government under whose rule? I assume you envision a Western government in charge of the world, but what if it were to be an Eastern centric government, similar in political ideology to the Chinese? What if it were a Middle Eastern led government with strong ties to Islam and the enforcement of Sharia Law? Would that be so great?

People are different. There can be no one world government because one government cannot properly represent nor tend to an entire planet of people.

You raise the question of when resistance to globalization and an umbrella government has ever benefited a people. I would say that such resistance benefited the people of Iceland greatly following the economic calamity of 2008 which still plagues many European nations.

I'd say such a resisting spirit benefited the settlers who fought for American independence from the British during the revolutionary war.

Seeing that there is no proof of a "galactic federation," we should not concern ourselves with such imbecilic matters such as the opinions of space aliens regarding our existence.

The idea that we should bend over and take it in regards to oppression is at best moronic, and at worst apathetic. Tyranny comes in many forms, and it is often perpetrated by those who would paint themselves as benevolent and just; that does not make it okay. There can be no global governing force without tyranny, and where there is tyranny there will always be resistance. A one world government is a tyrant's wet dream, and the common people's nightmare.
