Penny for Your Thoughts

To me a looks like a penny that has been dropped onto a mossy floor. It doesn't erally look like tree's to me but it's late and my eyes could be playing up.

It's a large air vent for an underground facility. This facility's entrance is at White Sands to the NW.

I think that it has been pretty-well argued in some earlier replies, that it is (sadly), just an old water tank...that might, at one time, have had a windmill to draw water from the earth...and, perhaps, supply to livestock.
That said - I'm still open to thoughts and suggestions.
