You and Defcon 5 are confused. Each mason has a specific deity that he worships. "Freemasonry" ascribes to a generic God so each member may not have to be oppressed by others. His God is His business. That mindset stops the "My Jesus could beat up your Mohamed" kind of rhetoric.

It's about tolerance of other beliefs. Something that Fundamental Christians don't seem to have in abundance.

The Church has imposed the penalty of excommunication on Catholics who become Freemasons. The penalty of excommunication for joining the Masonic Lodge was explicit in the 1917 code of canon law (canon 2335), and it is implicit in the 1983 code (canon 1374).

He was a very intelligent man, very well read, and did a lot for Scottish Rite Freemasonry. He happened to be around during the Civil war and fought for the south. If you do some research on him, you will find he was much more than just the whipping boy for anti masons. I also know he didn't start the KKK, worshiped God, and he never wrote a letter to Manzini about any wars.

So, there was a nice thread started, asking for honest answers to simple questions. For a few pages, there was a great discourse and respectfully mature conversation. Then a few religious zealots entered and derailed a great thread with their baseless accusations and intolerance. So now, from this example, which group of people would you consider upstanding and respectful of others, have the ability to converse without any accusatory tones?

And the intolerant and disrespectful thread derailers expect others to follow them to a promised afterlife of truth?

I am not surprised the followers are dwindling from that particular group. Sad really, considering the teachings of the man/God they follow is the complete opposite of their actions and words here.

Hey, I say it a lot but I do not mind repeating for it is important. I mentioned true repentance and confession of your mortal sins to God to prepare for the Warning. I didn't say in my last post, if you are Catholic...you must GO to Confession to confess your mortal sins.

You can be a Mason and a Catholic, but may face excommunication. I know many Masons who are devout Catholics.

I have not voted for "one world order."

Freemasonry does not have roots in the devil.
