ISIS leader wants to sack Rome

The leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is calling on all Muslims to join his new "Islamic State" and march on, and conquer Rome.

"Rush O Muslims to your state. It is your state. Syria is not for Syrians and Iraq is not for Iraqis. The land is for the Muslims, all Muslims. "This is my advice to you. If you hold to it you will conquer Rome and own the world, if Allah wills."

He doesn't elaborate how he his going to get through Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and finally Italy on his march to Rome. Will these countries, and the rest of NATO, just stand aside as he drives through?

Do you think he is delusional? Would you follow someone who said "I want to conquer Rome"? Should the Vatican move to North America?

That's what I thought at first but he's talking about scrapping:

The explanation will most likely be something like this:

Come home and join your Muslim brothers, and unite ! We will be strong together, and the Islamic world will be ours once more, and as one we will grow strong and one they be able to sack Rome, if we want to. ( Destroy the Roman churge)

Not agreeing on a take over of the Rome nor the Vatican, Im not catholic. Not all priests are pedo priests, its a shame church has protected them. Vatican has a lot of treasures what we don´t even know.. i would not let the muslims to take over and destroy them nor the ancient texts the vaults holds.
There were a interview of Hamed Abdel-Samad an islam researcher who is now in the black list ( fatwa ) of fundamentalist muslims because he connected fundamentalist Islam with facism.

I am surprised that he hasn't twigged that if he ever gets his muslim state,- they will all be fighting each other in it - and ultimately if he tries to lead some islamic army to kill outside of his proclaimed state, some bright spark will simply nuke his muslim state because its too much of a threat to the rest of the world, that can quite happily live without the insane, bearded monstrosities that islam creates.

He has a lot of countries to conquer on his way to Rome.
Unless he takes a boat.

The logistics involved and also that Italy has some 179K troops active...... well I don't see ISIS conquering Italy any time soon.

I think this is meant for ears other than ours. Simple as that for message to audience. A threat like this, as delivered to the world, in that context, is so asinine right now as to make the man look like a court jester.

However, this man is probably one of the most intelligent we've seen to rise to a position like he's assuming in a long long time. This is what it looks like when a historian and specialist in an area goes outright postal IN that area, like he's reliving a bygone era.

The problem is..there are millions that may well eat up his words, as I'm sure his intention actually is here, and think 'what if....could he really be....?'. At this stage, all the man needs is that little kernal of doubt in what he's running as a marathon, not a sprint IMO.

I hope Governments stop playing with him like he's a regional warlord fairly quickly. He's actively building lines well beyond that as we debate it and flaunting that much to rally the faithful to him. Talk about the WRONG thing to see pop up at a time of general chaos and hopeless people in that region.

Well Iraq is getting some Russian airpower, so if they can obtain them things could get ugly.

That I think would be the worst case scenario. Although that is a scenario that doesn't seem plausible at this point.
