There are currently over 1200 Christian denominations in North America alone.

Obviously it is not a belief narrowed to one persons (church/location/clergy/sect) interpretation.

The "I'm right, you're wrong" Christians need to take a step back. Just like all the other 1200 Christian denominations, your interpretation is only one of many.

Your's and this bakers interpretation may be right for you/him, but it's still only one interpretation of many.

There are many Christian churches who welcome their gay members.

"We accept as Christian any individual or group who devoutly, thoughtfully, seriously, and prayerfully regards themselves to be Christian. That is, they honestly believe that they follow Yeshua of Nazareth's (a.k.a. Jesus Christ's) teachings as they understand them to be. " Other individuals and groups have much narrower definitions of the term. They often believe that their faith group is the "true" Christian religion, and that all others are in error. That is certainly their right, but it does cause a great deal of confusion, frustration, anger, and conflict. www.religioustolerance.org...

Because he refused to serve them because they were getting married. And as we know Marriage in the bible takes many forms As I've mentioned over and over. Like the Ezra passage which says that marriage is only between 2 israelites.
So does he refuse wedding cakes to all non jewish customers, you can't cherry pick one part of the bible and ignore the rest can you?

Well let's have a look at what the Bible says about Homosexuality then...

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the Lusts of their hearts, to dishonour their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever, amen.

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

The passage explains other actions which should not be committed by followers and then finally finishes with this.

Who, knowing the righteous judgement of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

They are from Romans. Homosexuality is frowned upon in the Bible. There is a bit more in Corinthians also.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will NOT inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God

So this isn't something that only came from the Old Testament, it is spoken about in the New Testament also... Every religion has the same opinion when it comes to homosexuality and that should be respected just like homosexuals want respect.

Calling for the death of a homosexual and err me because I support their choices should be respected? That is calling for murder and should not be respected by any rational and moral society.

Just about all welcome Gay members.

It is the intimate actions of homosexuality that is not welcome.

People need to not only stop trying to force religions to accept people, because with that force the person(s) is being a hypocrite, but also understand a large percentage of churches welcome them, just not the lifestyle or the actions.

Y'know what bugs me about this whole gay rights issue for the last few years? It seems they want to ram their homosexuality down our throats. I just recently started watching Game of Thrones and there's a lot of homosexuality, call me squeamish, call me whatever, but I don't care to watch guys making out.

So what does that make me? A homophobe? These gay rights issues are getting beyond ridiculous. Does it mean if I don't want to watch gay porn, it makes me a homophobe too? Going to force that on us as well? Jesus H Christ. Watching Entertainment tonight last night and Neil Patrick (whatever his name is, Doogie Howser) is making out and making gay sexual references regarding straight male actors and everyone's having a 'gay ole laugh' about it. They're laughing! Like it's ok?? If any gay man on tv was making sexual references about me without my consent, they would get slammed with a lawsuit, or a punch in the mouth. Will Smith gave a light backhand slap in the face when that guy crashed the red carpet and gave him a kiss. But ooooh noes, we're supposed to accept what grosses out pretty much every straight male.

Listen, I don't care what sexual preference you have. Just keep your mouth shut about it, we don't care. And don't expect us to put up with what we deem disgusting. This has gone too far already.

It's not telling people to kill homosexuals or others who commit the other actions. All it is saying is that those people are deserving of death, where does it say "Kill them and don't think twice about it"? For someone to kill a homosexual they bring sin upon themselves, it is called murder which is also deserving of death.

lol you liked that eh?

Na, it does have to do with the cake guy in a way. Being forced to endure what we're not prepared to endure.

That is your belief. Not all Christians agree with you. And don't bother with the same rhetoric that you can't be actively gay and Christian. Again, that is your belief, which many Christians do not share.

I was raised Christian. I did attend church for many years. I know the people I went to church with and their interpretation of belief.

You want to be a "fundy", that's your choice. But, do not dictate to me how to believe or not believe.

Did I say "Kill them don't think twice about it"? don't put me into quotes that i never made.

It says they/we are deserving of death. Are you interpreting that is we are deserving to live? Just checking as my fellow "christians" seem to interpret things in a real glossy way that wipes away the shame and murderous insanity put down in the fallible written by man bible.

The bible is NOT the entire word of god, it is written by men, and all men are infallible, what you have quoted tells me that the gay couple deserve death. as do I for supporting them.

Please tell me what deserving of death means? other than deserving of death.....

No need to be facetious. You're not a man so you definitely can't speak for any of us. Guys don't like it. Period. It grosses us out.

OK Ok ok. I'll stop being facetious when you stop generalising and grandstanding your thoughts as a reflection of everyone, instead of just your own.
By saying you represent everyones same thoughts is kinda err "shoving your thoughts down OUR throats"

But I am speaking for heterosexual men. We don't like watching gay guys in action and that isn't just my opinion. Tell you what. If a straight guy steps up and and tells me I'm wrong, I'll rescind.

Dare i bring up many hetro men LOVE to watch two women? That is different how.... same sex lovemaking, just not the parts YOU like to watch?

I know Im going to be sorry I brought that up....

OK then when someone replies can we get back to cakes for gays? Instead of what about gays upsets your sensibilities?
