Can I just tell ya'll what a sweet and touching thread you have here? How lucky and blessed you are...to find such friends!

Made me get a little misty *wipes away small tear under eye but with a big smile on face*.

Honestly, reading this and looking at the pictures reminds me of old fashioned postcards (and that is a good thing...snail mail is underrated IMHO).

If you make it across the pond to Texas, adult beverages on me!

I totally agree with your sentiments about snail mail. It is so nice to receive a letter written from a friend in the post. In my youth I used to have many, many penfriends from all over the world...France, Iceland, Finland, Australia, Holland and quite a few from here in the UK. I'd get home from school and settle down with a cup of tea and savour the moment. I sooo want to start doing that again! People don't seem to even bother sending postcards any more.....I have about 3 scrapbooks full of them from those days!

If I can ever be bothered to get a passport again.....keep an eye on your mail!
