Bye Syx! You guys have a great night!

True....I saw your books and shelves actually, lol...I saw the video you made.
I wanted to tell you how I store mine....at the foot of my bed is a large ornate wooden trunk, like a blanket box...and I keep my books in there. They are all lined up, spine up...hehe....so a lot fit in, and I can pull them out fairly easily to look for one.
Even plastic milk crates (are they still around?) will work, and nice if they fit under a bed or in a closet.

Just something to keep in mind, if you keep getting bags of books delivered, lol.

Hehe!

Well, I guess that this merry bunch will only take me a month or two to read. I am voracious when it comes to reading, especially when the book is enjoyable! Then I will give the bag full back, and have a long wait for the next instalment of tales of battle and adventure in a dystopian future!

Luckily, there are plenty more places I could put a shelf, the brackets are cheap enough, and I can reclaim some more wood for the shelves themselves without any hardship what so ever!

I like the trunk idea though. The reason I have gone for the shelves, is that my brother in law (who is as close to being a librarian as one can get, without actually BEING a librarian) is of the opinion that books do rather better on shelves, stored vertically, than they do in stacks, or in boxes. Personally, I have no experience either way, but I particularly love some of my books, and I do not want them all getting mangled. Plus, I know what I am like...

As they are now, I can put them back and take them out without any problem. If they go in a box, spine up, I will be too vigorous in my efforts to reach the bottom of the box, and damage them. I could manage my impatience, but a more effective and immediately functional solution is to just put everything where I can see it!

There are some things however, that I store in plastic crates. I have my CD collection in a large wallet/carry case thing, but I keep the cases in a plastic crate under my bed, along with some other sundry items.

Well it doesn't surprise me that I didn't know there was a proper way to store them, lol. I think maybe I thought that the wooden box would allow them to 'breathe'...haha....

I like shelves of books myself, just don't have any up in this place. My last place had a bunch of wooden shelves built in around a fireplace, so that was great.

I like going to the library sometimes, to research things in books...just to be in that environment.

Well heck, even I have not PROPERLY stored my books!

There's no decimal system in here! I just unpacked them out of the stacks they were in, right onto the newly created shelving! This all got put up a few weeks before Christmas if I remember correctly! Never quite got around to it before! Well... I had best be away to my pit, since it is five to two in the morning.

Dream sweetly,
Rest completely,
In the etherscape,
Of the mind,
Wake brightly,
And stand mighty,
Ready for the morrow,
And new adventures you will find!

OMG, I saw Homer! We missed you buddy!!!!

Did someone say books???? I LOVE books and read every single day! Mostly sci/fi and fantasy, but other genres as well. I have wicker baskets loaded with books, some on shelves, some stacked on my dresser and night stand, some on the floor. LOL

Man, usually I'm just going to bed at like 5am and today I was up at 5am. Wow! Almost forgot what it was like to get up at a normal yet early hour. Not even 8am yet and I cleaned out the turtle tank, put clean filter and added water, and now doing laundry.

Yesterday I finally called the blood specialist but they needed my records faxed over from my primary care doc. Called them and they faxed it over. Now I just have to wait for the blood doctor's office to call me to get an appointment. UGH!
I'm scared, I'm scared...

Well, gotta get Mousie the rat up and play with her a while. Have to keep her used to being handled. Don't want her to start biting. LOL Yesterday my sister asked me, "Why would any normal person want a rat for a pet?" I said "Normal??" We both laughed. I have never been normal. I'm 56 and still growing up. LOL My Mother said, "She'll scream bloody murder if she sees a spider, but she likes rats and snakes and lizards and things." Which reminded me of my horror story of the other day when I encountered a centipede quickly running across the wall. OMG I swear I almost cried because I had to kill it myself. LOL Those are terrifying!

Good morning hunny!

Nothing wrong with loving little critters...I'm having coffee and cuddling (trying to) with my silly Sophie.

Centipedes and spiders are evil...I pretty much love everything else, lol.

I'm sorry you're feeling scared...have a *hug*...and some *good vibes*.
Really wish I could just pop in and have coffee with you...or tea...
I am here...reading...lurking...but always happy to see you!

Wish we didn't live so far away from each other. I would LOVE having coffee with you and sharing laughs and tears with you. I know we would do a lot of laughing, we are so much alike and both have great senses of humor. LOL

YIKES! My dryer buzzer went off and I jumped a mile. Got to hang and fold clothes now. Will be popping in and out of here. It is steiner I tell you, steiner!!!!!!!!!

(sung to "Barbie Girl")

You and I would have fun together, I have no doubt about that.

Now I feel lazy...you're doing laundry already? I'm still in my jammies doing nothing except this.
Ahh well, I have all day to be productive...or I might just procrastinate myself into accomplishing nothing.
I'm fine with either, lol.

I'm usually tired as hell and napping or resting most of the day away. Today is the first day in I don't know how long where I feel good and have energy. It is amazing so I am getting as much done as I can while the spirit moves me. LOl

Time to visit Mom. Be back later. Hugs to all!!

( High overhead Syx looks down at the scene of NightStar and Jacy sitting together having their morning coffee. He sees the two laughing and carrying on about something. Little Mousie, Sophie, and Macy are rolling around intertwined in their playful antics.
After awaking from a fitful nights sleep, Syx was airborne early today. Having gathered his wits after soaring the beautiful morning skies for a time, He decides to land near the Girls and join them for some Java......
CRASH!!! Rolling and tumbling in a flurry of wings and legs, Syx comes to a stop a few feet away from the Group.
Startled, Jacy and NightStar look wide eyed at Syx as He shifts to Human form.
"Always the Clumbsy one eh Syx?" Jacy says with a Smile.
"Thanx Syx, you made me spill my coffee!." Remarked NightStar.
"Umm, well, You know Me!" Syx Grinned.)

(sliding a new cup of Coffee to NightStar and offering one to Jacy Syx sits down with the two.)

Good morning you guys! How ya all doin this morn?

I threatened to expose your sloppy landings, so you trumped me by admitting it first!

Now I have to find something else to use to get back at you.
(Ohhhh....I haven't forgotten.....)

So what's on for today? Anything fun?

Oh now come on, that bit was just something to get yer mind going on how to embarrass me in your installment! LOL!!!! so embarrass away!LOL!!!!
And NO Lie! Popped right into my head! LOL!!! Really!!!

Today, Hmmm, let's see. I usually try to NOT plan things, as they alway go south on me. Happens all the time so I tend to just , 'Wing' It!

Ahhh....I'm not really a revenge type of gal, so you have nothing to worry about!

I don't really plan much either, only things I HAVE to do. I basically 'wing it' through my days too.

I know that I HAVE to jump in the shower soon, and spend a ridiculous amount of time drying my hair.
When I spend time in the bathroom 'grooming', Sophie comes in and lays by my feet...washes her face, etc. (It's like she knows that the bathroom is the 'grooming station'.) Funny little girl.

Apart from the that....the rest of my day is a complete mystery right now.

A Female who is NOT Vengeful? Truly an anomaly! (looking over my shoulder......)
Ya I know the HAVE to do bit too. Anymore, I seem to dread those situations. The carefree in me has left, it seems a lot anymore, but such is life, eh?
Sophie is smart, looks like!
Been hittin a few threads so far today. I can't believe some times at the topics chosen by people. But everyone has their own perceptions and tastes. Makes the World go round........ (RATT just popped into my head there! LOL!!

Syx!!!!!!!!! Thanks for joining us this morning!

Been so busy, I forgot to play with Mousie.
Better do it now before Mark's visiting nurse gets here. Don't want the poor old lady to have a heart attack or anything. LOL
