The NBA being an association of franchises has its own constitution, in which under circumstances such as these the commissioner has the right to do what he did. Its the natural way of things in a modern civil society, racists will be shunned. Stand up for him, picket for him, protest for his rights. The racists will be shunned.

Well, I'm not entirely sure on the legality of the President of the United States cheating on his wife (aka the first lady) , but the other two were highly illegal. Also, when you later lie about your affair (beings your entire life is public as the President of the US), under oath, and then therefore get impeached for perjury (also highly illegal), it sort of sums all three of your examples into the category of: Highly Illegal. That kinda makes a big difference.

Also, BTW, just in case you didn't know, you can respond to multiple people in the same post, so as not to have a 5 (at least so far on this page) long string of posts solely from you, chimp brains.

Also, the irony, from what I can only assume to be a black person, calling a white person, with an IQ around 150+ "chimp brains", is overwhelming.

It was more than a mere generalization. It was a statement encompassing years of indoctrination by white guilt propaganda, where white people are encouraged to make praiseworthy statements of grandeur about populations that their ancestors have mistreated in the past. While reading these posts, I wonder: "Are these ATSers actually convinced that Barkley's statement is racist? Or are they looking to play into the "look for any possible way to defend my skin color (an 'even the score' type of thought) after a pop media propaganda bomb succeeded in making me see myself as representative of a 'race' first, instead of a conscious individual" thing?

I see marketing and media money behind this, and nothing else (nothing significant, anyway)... "what's the easiest effing way that we can rile up sensitivities, sell people ideas of racism AND increase our profits? Easier said that done, fellas...." Sure. That's if having a SOUL makes life harder. Which is how the mainstream media works. It's a soul wholesale outlet! Everything MUST GO!!

Really, is not a big deal. Sheeple will weed themselves out one way or another. Don't get too worked up; you won't hurt anything more than yourselves.

What Sterling said is racist and what Barkley said is racist. It's also racist that it's somehow acceptable for Barkley to say what he said and only unacceptable for Sterling to say what he said. The NBA is just about the most racist organization in America though, after things like the KKK and the black panthers.

"It's a black league", "blacks are genetically superior", "blacks are athletically superior to whites and Asians", etc. is just common language used in NBA discussion and nothing is ever said about it. Evidently, only white people can now be racists today.

But yes, what Barkley said is definitely racist. It's just as racist as what Sterling said.

He was sleeping with a black woman and even gave her his blessing to sleep with other men. Who all happen to be black. That is what he was addressing. If the woman had slept with men of other races besides him($$$) then I'm sure he would never have stipulated or pointed it out.
I heard the old guy pretty much accussing her of being the 'racist'. seeing how the men on the bleeping instygrm are always black.

This was clearly an ongoing 'private' discussion between the two parties.

Does sterling have an ego problem? Yes.
Her flaunting her black bulls makes him feel inferior.

Is he a hypocrite? Most certainly.
As he willingly flaunted his extra-marital affair with a black woman.

Is he a racist? Hell, no!
She couldn't even bait him into using the N word...

Does she appear to be a racist?
Yes.
She appears to be a gold digging racist!

Sir Charles was one of my favorite ball players. I used to watch a lot of NBA games during the 90's. Undersized yet still dominating as a power forward.

Now he is my favorite commentator because he is one of those guys who is not afraid to speak his mind. He was great to watch as a player, now he is great to listen to as a commentator.

So why is what Mr. Barkley said even news worthy. I hope for his sake he is able to use the PR to his advantage.

This might be slightly off topic, but so is just about every other post, most of them even more racist than the comments we're supposed to be discussing. However, it is about basketball, it is about race, and it's one of the better documentaries I've ever seen, and I don't even like basketball.

You know, I really thought after several of us pointed out that the this was a PRIVATE conversation made public that more people would see the real problem here isn't that a racist was outed, but was that the NBA, and media (govt controlled) actually succeeded in getting the man punished for it. It doesn't matter what was said, it was privileged and likely illegal for her to have recorded him in the first place without his knowledge. So we condone criminal behavior because we don't like the man. We condone punishing a man for having thoughts we don't agree with. Are some of you that incapable of seeing why this isn't a good thing? The wrong precedent was set, forget about WHAT he said, think about HOW this was done.

ATS has turned into a haven for so many politically correct brainwashed socialist finger pointers that it's barely worth visiting at times and also explains why there has been such an exodus of people I actually liked hearing from. Instead I get to hear the mindless dribble from the likes of "Imafungi" who doesn't even realize how ridiculous and short sighted he sounds.

We can do better. But go ahead and miss the point yet again.

The problem here is it's Charles Barkley. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

If he would have said Basketball is "mainly" a black league, or predominantly a black league, I'd have no problem. But saying Basketball is a black league, is just plain racist. Actually I don't even know if it's racist, or just outright idiotic. The man lacks tact.

Show me one example of an NHL player, or former NHL all-star saying "Hockey is a White league". Don't bother looking you won't find any. Not Hockey is predominantly white, or the like.

I also find it extremely ironic, that the NBA Logo is a WHITE GUY. Jerry West. Nice Logo for a Black League Charles.

Seriously if a former Hockey player, former all-star came out and said "Hockey is a White League". he would be labelled a racist. I guarantee it.

There is a clear double standard when it comes to racism in America. But anyway let's consider the source, Charles Barkley.., enough said. LOL
