But even then, he is pretty much saying when I return, you are all going to be destroyed because you didn't believe in me.

Ok but aside from Christian dogma...
What exactly does that mean... to believe in Jesus...
Does it mean all you need to do is say "I believe in Jesus" and you get a free ticket to paradise? That is the basis of the whole "Faith alone" ideal which a good portion of Christianity believes...
IF one "believes" in Jesus... they do as he asked of us... Words don't mean squat without action to back them...
SO who would be these people who are destroyed then, which I don't believe anyways but lets just roll with it...
IT would be of course, the people who turn their backs on the needy, the selfish... self oriented...
Throughout the gospels the message is consistant.... the selfish are condemned, the selfless are saved...
Love vs Hate (or indifference)...
Even some of those that cry out lord lord in that day, he will say "I never knew you"... read the story as to WHY he never knew these people....

You cannot pick out bits and pieces of the Bible and understand the entire message. Let's say you buy a novel and read bits and pieces of the novel, would you understand the entire story of the book? No, because critical pieces of that novel will be missed and what you think the story is may be something completely different. I have seen many people pick and choose short verses of the Bible and they miss the entire point of the teaching. This also happens in Churches and the idiots you see preaching on TV. They use verses to push their own agenda and all I can see here is the exact same thing.

Jesus was Pisces, which is two fish chasing each other..symbolically.
There is a japanese symbol, with two koi chasing each, almost like yin and yang...symbolically.
It almost like a snake chasing it own tail trying to swallow it...and a snake is a wise creature...symbolically.
Why would a snake, symbolically the wisest creature of all gods creations in the garden of eden, to the point it went to hell
... chase its own tail?
The Ouroboros or Uroboros (/jʊərɵˈbɒrəs/; /ɔːˈrɒbɔrəs/, from the Greek οὐροβόρος ὄφις tail-devouring snake) is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. The Ouroboros often symbolize self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things such as the phoenix which operate in cycles that begin anew as soon as they end. It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting from the beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished. While first emerging in Ancient Egypt, the Ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism, but has also been frequently used in alchemical illustrations, where it symbolizes the circular nature of the alchemist's opus. It is also often associated with Gnosticism, and Hermeticism. Carl Jung interpreted the Ouroboros as having an archetypal significance to the human psyche.[citation needed] The Jungian psychologist Erich Neumann writes of it as a representation of the pre-ego "dawn state", depicting the undifferentiated infancy experience of both mankind and the individual child.[1]

Well the same could be said for democracy. Because another group of people do not believe in our ideologies your leaders will present to you a justified way of murdering innocent people. Half the problem is you cannot see what Atheistic views are doing to the world while you argue which God is better or worse. So before you go judging God, how about you judge your leaders who apparently believe in God yet murder innocent people to push their democratic Godless agendas.

Why is it that god (christian god of the old testament) commits such evils while lucifer/satan does nothing but "tempt"? lets see a few examples of the horrible things god does and see if anyone can find something the devil did that is even on par. Isaiah 13:15-18: Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children
wow! pretty sick and twisted for a divine being!!! - See more at: www.abovetopsecret.com...
No I'm afraid you are mistaken... According to your beliefs god created all that is bad in this life. He created lucifer too. No angels were made with free will. Therefore the character of Lucifer operates under god's will (because your god is omnipotent and all knowing, remember?)
I am sure you have lied before, so by your own ideals you are worst than someone who murders children?
Surprisingly no one has provide any scripture of the devil committing evil acts!!!!
what makes sense is that Jesus was mentally I'll, running round claiming to be the son of god, sitting around on hilltops talking to himself and wearing nappies at his age, terrible business. And all all this cross nonsense, I'm sure if Jesus was real he is gonna love it when he comes back to find the tool of his torturous death around the necks if those who are meant to love him, makes me chuckle...

That would totally make sense if you didn't have to explain the conversation between him and Satan on that hilltop.
You insult others by claiming that the bible is the only way to have spiritual insight, I call bs to your statement and you bible written by man. I studied the bible for 112 years and I learned a great deal more by studying and comparing the belief systems out there (including where Christianity stole all their ideas from, there's hardly anything original in it) after that period. And my mother (a church organist at the same church from the age of 14 till she died at 46),who got angry at me when I was reading about Wicca, later learned to support what I was doing and would even by me books on paganism and the occult to help widen my horizons. If my Mum supported me then u must have been on the right path...

I know this book very well and to be honest with you, don't insult me because for someone who proclaims to have been brought up a Christian, you do not have spiritual insight. Just by the way you speak and discredit the Bible is enough for me to understand that Spiritual insight was something that never got taught to you.
