so I've been getting this unknown call connected and live in the background of other calls for the last week or so on my iPhone 5. today tho when i enter my password to unlock it, the call has been connected and live counting down, twice....

I've decided its probably some software glitch since i refuse to update but incase some bored intern is having to transcribe what is picked up by my phone I've decided to take them on a little audio/visual journey. I'm currently blasting different music into while its kick standed facing out the window to the beautiful Michigan country side.

other ideas i have.

1. 3 stooges marathon.

2. QVC marathon lol.

3. general annoying TV marathon.

any other ideas? I'm keeping the music I'm blasting into it politically motivated and uplifting hoping that if some doofus does have to listen to it at least theres a chance they might open there eyes.

current song playing

Your have a justifiable reason to be paranoid...

Anyone could have access TO ALL the data in your phone.
There are several surveillance sites on the internet that
sell and support a completely legal surveillance service
for internet phones.

What's worse is it is cheap AND easy. For less than one
hundred dollars you can buy this service, gain access to the
phone you want to tap (which is as easy asking someone
if you could borrow their phone) call a certain number,
enter a certain code...and then hand the phone back.

These services gives access to all data on the phone, all
calls, all msgs, all passwords...everything.

Scary isn't it...and it's legal. It's sold as a surveillance
device for parents and jealous spouses.

Of it could just simply be the NSA...making sure you
are safe and protected and not saying dirty words...

ya this is exactly what I'm worried about. for all i know my girlfriend has some PI keeping tabs on me lol. i doubt its the NSA or CIA or anyone using true tech intel gathering tactics, way to sloppy. hell it could just be some random hacker that found his way to my phone who knows lol either way they are in for some good tunes!

By not updating your device, you are opening your self up to security breaches and things of that nature.
Hope you don't buy anything online or do any banking with that device.

i dont. its a phone and a google box mostly. if someone wants to listen in on me feel free. cant take my cash over the phone and no ones about to take it by force so no biggy. i dont use banks and i dont do anything nefarious.

I DO however wonder just what is considered nefarious today. something i do on the regular might be misconstrued and get me a check up who knows now a days. I've been reading into alot of topics lately that if taken out of the context of the whole that is my intent it might look a little shady. all easily enough explainable if it ever comes to anything.

my GF is involved in some legal proceedings at the moment i wonder if thats a possibility? seems sloppy phone surveilling would be right in a lawyers wheelhouse? idk.

any other artists i should play for them? currently jamming

ya know i should look into it and see if its being picked up by verizon. hearing what they have to say would be interesting here. i believe I'm gonna call them and keep this all very vague and just see if they notice any calls today from an unknown number.

Crosstalk has been a part of phones since forever.

People don't realize how complex TDM/VOIP/CELL/PBX/POTS calls really are. They don't realize how much switching is actually involved and how many places things can go wrong.

Based on the symptoms you provided that is a much more likely cause than something nefarious which doesn't make it any less annoying it just means folks shouldn't automatically assume Jack Bauer is listening on the other end.

alright i just got off the phone with verizon and the poor girl i got didnt seem to have a clue. she couldn't get into my data usage and i didnt really wanna get a note on my account for being overly paranoid so i just left it there with her and continued onto the online breakdown of my recent usage.

that brings me here. updated as of 8:30 pm YESTERDAY so in a day or so il check on that and see whats up.

now to quell the whole "YOUR DOING THIS TO YOURSELF" crowd. yes technically i might be. if thats the case then o well. like the above poster said its probably some weird cross talk cause I'm not updated. i still am not going to update. my GF's phone is horrible since the update and having issue after issue. id rather have some voyeur trying to sneak peaks at me during sexy time!

Maybe you are picking up a parallel universe LOL just kidding. You should do a factory reset on your phone that may cure your problem.

Hackers can steal info using sound waves picked up by your phones mic...

Using the microphones and speakers that come standard in many of today's laptop computers and mobile devices, hackers can secretly transmit and receive data using high-frequency audio signals that are mostly inaudible to human ears, a new study shows.

So if you have any other devices within 'earshot' of your phone while keeping the call connected, id be careful here.
Just remember this one little fact...

Oftentimes, though, the weakest links in cyber security systems are not hardware or software, but the humans who interact with them

Be careful

if I'm being hacked that hard then some one is gonna be in for some serious face palming when they finish tearing my life apart. nothing to see here lol. no credit to take. no nudies to bribe me with. nothing. or so i think any way lol. regardless if its a 3 letter agency then no matter what i do I'm toast and if its just some schmuck he's not gonna find anything but a very over tired new parent.

for whatever its worth i shut my phone off for a while and let it stew next to a loud fan and when i turned it back on it seemed to be all good..... for about 20 min. like the 3rd or 4th time i unlocked it to check an app BOOM unknown call connected and counting down. so I'm very interested to see whats up tomorrow when my bill updates.
