In response to your OP, no. I am not disgusted.

I am not saying I have evolved past it all. That would be a lie. I feel as though I have reached a crossroads and broken the barrier of circular thinking. To say I am apart from thoughts, feelings, or sentiments of any kind is just setting myself up for a potential fall when I am truly faced with those thoughts, feelings, or sentiments.

I know what human I can be and from that I CHOOSE to part in a direction of my choosing. I see myself first and foremost.

I dont steal for example, not because I am worried about what the consequences are or what people think of me. I KNOW I wouldnt like what I see in the mirror. I may get away with stealing, especially if I am good at it, or if I have help. I may be praised for stealing from the right person or in the right way by anyone depending on what I think they will see. In the end all those images of who I am would not be based on what I think but rather they would be based on my perception of what others think.

That is the problem with people. We think we see and know ourselves but really we just worry about an image of us that others see. God , society, ect. No where is the real you even taken into account. The only real and true witness to your story never chimes in all that convoluted mess.

The "good" of us, the "evil"....ALL BS. In the end we need only see ourselves for the sake of seeing ourselves truly.

I have seen plenty of people do right for all the wrong reasons. Same as seeing people do wrong for all the right reasons.

I know what I would do and why, and that is enough.

We dont need the validation, respect, or praise of others. WE WANT IT. The real you doesnt want. The real you CHOOSES what you need and gets it. The real you is the way you are because that is who you chose to be. Even if that you is the last of your kind, solitary in your being and is completely useless to others.

It is all circumstance to the choice you made of who you will to be.

I wish people had a mirror always to just truly look at themselves through their own eyes. One that didnt show anything but them. I wish they could see themselves and not "them in a world of us".

I think this has been creeping upon us for quite some time.
Basically I was thinking the other day that the state of the world and the human race "today" is the outcome of the past 300 years of manipulation by a group or groups of governments
I know that the disappearance of MH370 has stirred up many people who have previously been apathetic towards world affairs that go bye the bye in the media.
People are becoming aware that they don't have totake things on face value anymore ,so whilst it does seem a dreadful and unjust place at the moment I believe that the turning point is on the doorstep.

I think you're right about more folks not feeling compelled to take things at face value any more.

Mores seem aware, too, that the MSM are propaganda organizations first, last and foremost.

It's very late in the game to realize such things . . . but better than if the sheeple had not realized such at all.

Sigh.

I think it has more to do with how different people think in different ways more than anything else.

Some people's beliefs conflict with the beliefs of others, other have different ideas of what justice is, some people actually do not understand and don't have the wherewithal to even try to.

A big problem is how the different religions of the world fail to understand that your faith, or lack of faith, is a personal choice and should not come into play when logical decisions need to be made regarding others who may believe the opposite of themselves.

I guess it really amounts to intolerance and the way some use the study of history (legal/political/religious) to form their beliefs and judgments of others without first hand experience on the precedence they base their decisions upon.

Did that make sense?.

The 'way things were' are always going to set a standard we might compare the present or the future to, and find it to be bleak.

It might be attributed to being in a current phase where we hear or see almost too much.

Some things are better left unknown.

I think you're right. my mood can instantly change by my facebook feed....everywhere I turn there is horror stories and injustices all over the place and you cant help but feel powerless in the face of it all. I think right, left and center ...we all can relate to that feeling. nobody feels like they are winning and the world is becoming a better place. it is in some respects but it feels as if we are going backwards too.

Some things are better left unknown.

I'm disgusted how people treat one another. I also don't like how people treat animals. Animals shouldn't have to suffer because humans think they are superior to the world.

OP is 100% correct. Something insidious is happening in our society and no one seems to notice or even care!
I don't know whether its intentional social brainwashing or just a freak anomalous facet of human behavior which has been triggered recently in our socioevolution. But my god the world is a terrible place.
We spend trillions on wars which do nothing but further subdivide us and in the meantime millions (billions?) starve and live in poverty. How can this be allowed to occur? Or is it ok as long as we all have our "So and So's Got Talent"/ other crappy (yet fame offering) tv talent show.

Not sure if it's necessarily disgusted that I feel. More likely utterly depressed. The world depresses me. Absolutely and I'd be lying if I said that there wasn't at least one or two points a day where I observe something that makes me just want to bludgeon my own head against the desk until I lose consciousness.

As to why it's like this, I'd say it's a mixed bag. Part education, part media, part stress, part selfishness and, ultimately, people being people. When I'm being really very critical, I think the reason why it's so seemingly prevalent today is because of the internet. We have a 24/7 unflinching eye on the world and all its horrors and stupidities. That's going to be jading.

Sure blame it on the internet....we have no choice but to look at horrible things on the internet. What about the international banking system and the media that protects them and the corrupt politicians. Wouldn't you saynthatbtheynarenthenreal threat, considering that their every day decisions, that are in opposition to our wants and needs, would be the real issue? I hardly think that our last forum of free speech is the problem. They want to take the internet from us so we can no longer have discussions like this, sounds like you may be one of them.

I understand the sentiment and feeling of the OP. That said, it is not all doom and gloom. The world still has so much to offer.

In short "Life is worth it". Many of us live in safe cities and have clean water, ample food, friends and family we love. The wilderness is still full of awe and wonder. For example, a mother griz came out of her den near here with her first two healthy young cubs.

Safe and happy with friends, 21st Century Health care, automobiles more efficient and safe than those of our parents, prejudices slowly going away in enlightened communities.

It is not all bad news.

Awakening..

Its not a bad sign when more negative aspects are seen. It just shows that awareness has gotten bigger.

What is "happening in the world" is not new...you are just becoming aware of it. And thats the beginning of change.

Oh wow Op great topic really. I have not posted here in a long time and had to make a new account so I could but I had to when I saw this. thumbs up for that. As for the worlds state at present, it could be worse. I know that's hard to believe but it could. It was in the past and the only difference between now and then is the fact that we have outlets to complain about it. We all see how we are each living and compare notes. We are slowly figuring out that life sucks in general. But I am sorry, I am not buying into the end times crap. All that stuff is mans struggle with his own mortality and fear of death and the unknown. Plain and simple. We have been predicting the end for thousands of years and still it hasn't came. And its my honest opinion that it won't ever come. Least not in the form written in ancient fairy tales.

No, I am talking about a cosmic Catastrophe, one on the scale of what wiped out the dinosaurs or perhaps a global event such as drastic climate change. There have been 5 proven Extinction events in this planets history. 99% of all life was wiped out. We humans are not immune to this. we are just guests on this planet. Just one guest among millions of millions that this planet has shed off over the last 3.5 billion years. To think that we, as tiny and insignificant as we are in comparison to this mighty planet that has seen billions of years of chaos that has changed its very face, could possibly bring about the end of the "world" is just utterly egomaniacal. No the ultimate conclusion, the total end for this planet will not happen till our sun has finally breathed its last gasp of life and dies. Hell when it comes we as a species more then likely will not even be here anymore, having long since gone extinct.

I guess the point of this is that we are the reason life is the way it is. We are not mature. We embrace ignorance and fear. Hell we can't even get past discrimination of race and nation and realize that we are ALL one species. We should be pooling our knowledge together to better change our world, yet these two thing among many others stop us. We value object more then knowledge. We oppress others for the sake of owning what they have. We neglect the least fortunate of us so that we can raise those who are better off even higher. Compassion , humility , love, and respect for your fellow human is not just wishful thinking, its a requirement as a species and a civilization if we ever hope to survive into the future and not end up as a foot note in the geological stratum. We are all the same, we are all built the same. One day, far into the future perhaps, we will grow up and realize that fact. Otherwise we are never going to take the next step in our journey in this universe. In conclusion if things are going to get "better" then we all have to come to our senses, throw off fear hatred, and mysticism/ignorance and embrace logic and love.

the ELite have socially engineered the whole world. EVERY aspect of our lives is controlled by their SYSTEM.

i
It's easy to blame the elite for this. But the elite have no power, except for the power that we have given away ourselves by being apathetic.

funny you should bring this up. I began contemplating this last night, Just in my own countrymen. I have really started to understand when other countries leaders call America the great Satan. they may call it that for other reasons but to be an American and take a truly hard look at our culture and media, I have come to agree. something happened to this nation. whether it is Nazi infiltration or some kind of mass possession this home of mine is truly evil . and its really not all that recent this has started. America sold its soul and to quote ed dames " lost the moral high ground long ago". if god , if there is a god, and i am beginning to think there isn't ever does come back and judge us I would be willing to allow myself to be destroyed as long as every last human is too. reply to: one question.

I see very little good in the world. there is some but it is such a small amount it cant possibly balance out the evil. the bible does say that the hearts of men are evil. so even our" creator" says we are evil. which goes to show god doesn't give a #.

You sir are correct. The jail systems holds the whole family hostage. Prisoner even have to pay for their own toilet paper and we the family have to send money just to make sure they eat well. They have to buy stamps, paper and envelope's just to get a letter from them. The jail system is a money making deal.

Prisoners get out with a bad mark for life and "WHO" will hire them? Prisoners also get fines that they can not pay because they can't get a job. So once again family will have to pay. Now I am talking about non- violent crimes.

There is a push by Holder called "Smart on Crime"

It's only an awakening if the behaviors don't repeat themselves, unfortunately we have had thousands of years of repeat chaos.

I think they call us the "great satan" because our main export, democracy; is a finger pointing forum. That's why Washington is full of actor-agents, because any politician who would invest in it on that on a serious personal level is just wasting their time. That's why it's a good show, it's a bunch of # flingers that are only pretending to give a # about what they're flinging # about in the first place.

And as for God not caring, God protects those who were loyal. God insulated his path, the final destination is the goal that made it the only wise choice. Everything that's wrong with the world is part of the judgement which is the fact that God allowed the traitors mercy for a time, time which they spent blindly afflicting each-other and themselves.

Come on, democracy is not an American invention, it is not even a particularly "democratic"democracy. You know that, right?

Look into what countries and cultures gave democracy it's start, and when. Then look at the countries that helped it progress to the next level over time.

America is an importer of democracy, not an exporter.

the seven deadly sins had nothing to do with our downfall, no more than it is Loki's fault or Lord Vader's. Humans need to stop pushing the blame onto a mythical creature(s) and instead pull themselves up by the boot straps.
