Make of this what you will, but I wanted to bring it here for discussion. IMO, it lends well to the theory of Diego Garcia facilities potential ties to the missing MH370 flight.

See for yourself at Diego Garcia Passenger Facebook Page

You’ll notice they are erasing any mention of #mh370 on that page.

What's most surprising to me is that Diego Garcia has a facebook page... Suppose that's the way of the world, even military facilities can't repress their desires for internet celebrity...

Suspicious yes.... Super late though.
If this came out couple days after the plane had gone missing then sure, smoking gun almost

By this time tho if that plane was there, i am willing to bet that it is no longer. Talks of DG have been going on since day 1, why would you leave the plane there?

The British flock to DG in their thousands for the Easter Holiday.
There's not enough sun beds for everyone, hence the ban on The Americans

I have never met a person that wanted to go to DG on leave.

When I was in the Navy, DG was a billet that paid extra because it sucked being there.

I had seen somewhere the other day that there was a storm/hurricane? heading that way. Can anyone confirm this as that may be a reason for the travel stoppage?
Maybe not. This is the weather outlook, looks beautiful

In all this talk about MH370 how come no one is mentioning why the plane didn't show up on DG radar? I mean come on that place should be able to pinpoint anything from a bird to a plane entering and exiting the Indian Ocean. I still think the plane is in Pakistan.

That depends on how you look at this or what you believe. I personally think closer to your thoughts but just keeping the conversation moving.

If what is posted above is true, the officials at DG would be complicit.

I think the whole thing is one huge cluster #.

From day one or two I've thought N. Korea or Iran was involved. Wouldn't that be something if the plane is sitting in N. Korea? The most secretive nation on Earth, where better to hide a 777?

No surprise or conspiracy for me

I served there in the Marines a number of years ago and at that time, Diego was NOT a leave location in any aspect..

Military on assignment only

Well obviously they have some stains to clean up and they run out of Vanish stain remover or Coca Cola.

Thanks for the input, Semper. I appreciate it.

Why would they cancel all leave to DG?

Again, I'm just continuing the conversation and looking for any clues to this mystery.

In a broader context, what are the chances that the US doesn't know exactly where and how the flight ended?

Clearly, they aren't telling for some reason.

Leave to Diego Garcia has never been aloud. It is strictly a deployed location in the middle of the ocean. It would be like requesting leave to Bagram AFB in Afghanistan.

I was deployed there back in 2001 for 4 months right after 9/11 hit. There really isn't any place to hide something big there as an Airliner. It's not all that secret of a base and the island is a coral reef so there is nothing hidden under it either.

This all of just FYI.

Because even though it's the all powerful US military, radar is radar is radar, and still has to follow the laws of physics. Unless they flew close to the island, it would have been out of range of the base radar.
