Russian troops and unarmed men stormed Ukraine's naval headquarters in the Crimean port of Sevastopol on Wednesday and raised the Russian flag in a tense but peaceful takeover that signals Moscow's intent to neutralize any armed opposition.

Russian forces storm Ukraine naval HQ in Crimea

And so it begins...

Peaceful takeover?

Any bets on how long that will last?

I read this on my phone when i woke up.

The "pro russian" activists are planning to kick out ukranian troops and take over their bases. This is not surprising really since Crimea is now Russian. Just a matter of time before "pro russian" activists are getting clapped back.

True , and our government should know all about that kind of stuff since we have been occupying places for years now .

That is/was odd, no?

Russian troops and unarmed men?

I'm sure there's some sort of logical explanation for that as I doubt Russian troops & "unarmed men" usually storm things together.

Maybe they needed translators? Those dialects can get pretty tricky...

Yes.

As long as Ukranians stays calm.
What we've seen by now is that the Russians had no intention to take over the bases by force. That's a good thing.
If they wanted they could have taken over all the bases in one night. Fortunately that's not the case.

Sounds like it happened without incident for the most part.
Not the way our leaders would do it...it would have been bombed by drones, then a seal team would have gone in and made sure there were no survivors and then lied about the number of dead and wounded .

I bet you that they sent unarmed men because ukraine authorized use of deadly force if fired apon yesterday or the day before.

Putin has balls and is smart. He knows that if his troops dont Ukraine and the states wont fire back. He wont be able to get away with it for ever though, some day soon there will be more blood.

My guess would be that the Crimean troops are either defecting or calling their mommies. I don't expect much bloodshed yet. That will be in the nest two weeks when Russia moves in from the East. That is when the excrement hits the fan.

This is so far from over. Mark my words.

The difference there is that I look at both and say they're both wrong, you'll look at both and say Israel is wrong but Russia is right...

I can assure you that if you look at my previous posts I do NOT support Russia, we have a saying in our country, lets call a cat a cat ( really rough translation lol). Meaning, Russia is Russia, a country run by "ex" KGB is just how it sounds. But seeing all these members here taking the side of the west on this matter is evenly absurd We are all in it for the the same thing, self interest.

My comment was to point out the idiocy of the world in general, have enough country's say its legal and its okay. Israel prime example.

Well maybe the Ukrainians should start missile attacks and shelling the Crimea the way Israel is then watch Russia react the same way Israel does?

Doesn't sound nor look pretty now does it?

Is all I'm saying.

Reuters is owned by the rothschilds too isn't it?

They are the money.

Their news networks are reporting it very pro Putin, peaceful Putin.
Doing everything through parliament... Taking it fair & square.
The never ought to have given it anyway, its really Russian.

The BBC were biasing in that direction too yesterday.

Interesting to say the least.

Syria in conflicts on its Israeli border.

Missing plane.

Ukraine conflict.
