I would not say that even the veiled fascism that exists in modern governments including the US government and the UK government, is free of racism. I think it is perhaps a little blinkered to think of them as any better than what has been before in that regard.

Think about it. Despite the protestations and pronouncements of leaders of the so called free world, about their intentions toward places like Iraq and Afghanistan, the "liberation" that has been afforded certain populations by the activities of western governments, look at their effects. The effects that have the deepest impact are NOT the freedoms which were supposed to follow the dethroning of the madman, Saddam Hussein, or the death of the terror kingpin Osama Bin Laden, but the hundreds of thousands of non combatant civilian casualties, in BOTH nations.

The leaders of the US and the UK, thought it appropriate to write these deaths off as a justifiable means to achieve an end. How can they have done this, without valuing the lives of people from other nations and cultures, at a lower value than that of their own citizens? That is the very essence of racism. Hundreds of thousands die, but it is just fine as long as it is someone elses population being slaughtered by the boatload? I did not miss the meaning of that.

The Afghanistan situation particularly, was handled with NO concern for civilian welfare, for the safety of non combatant persons. It was a situation into which armies were sent, to do a job that should have been done by small teams of assassins. One does not use airstrikes, drones, tanks, and vast troop deployments to eradicate terror cells. One sends intelligence operatives to do that work, and that is the only way that work ought to be done.

Doing otherwise is proof enough, that fascism and racism are alive and well in western governments, just as they appear to be in the rest of the world. That kind of thinking MUST be removed from the face of this planet, if the human race is to have any hope of living in any kind of peace.

Well said, sir. Does it really matter if you're brown or poor or brown AND poor? Not to these people.

Does the legacy of these people continue today. Is what were seeing in Ukraine the start of something bigger?

Let's just hope that Putin will not revive Stalin's legacy in Crimea by repeating the Katyn massacre:

Does anyone think that the nacional socialism of yesteryear is starting to raise it's heads across Europe with a view to stay for good, personally i think it never went away, just went underground.

Will whats happening in Ukraine give rise to new tensions between ethnic groups across europe.especially in the East.

Is the nacional socialism thats apparant in the Ukraine homegrown or imported?

Returning to the alleged topic of this thread, the United States Constitution guarantees "freedom of assembly." This means that any group of citizens can come together to express their political views. In addition to a Nazi Party, there was an even larger Communist Party in pre-war America. Here is a photo of one of their congresses:

What is significant about the United States is that it allowed both Nazis and Communists to express themselves freely. You never saw a large Communist rally in Hitler's Germany, or a large Nazi rally in Communist Russia. Those totalitarian states liquidated those who disagreed with them. Let's hope that Russia does not impose that sort of government on the innocent people of Crimea.

Be damned if I know what your point is with this.

You know nothing about the American Nazi Party? Their numerous associations with the right wing in America?

The order of the SS has affiliations in every state. The fact that most of these groups could care less about National Socialism and just want to use the moniker.

There are some huge groups in the Northwest and the FeeBee's monitor them closely however most of these groups are not even reactionary.

Actually, national socialism is still socialism and is not "right wing". Many times I have heard northeastern democrats make ridiculous statements like "Hitler was right, he just didn't do it correctly".

Yeah, but when Nat. Socialism in the U.S. was just getting popular, Hitler spoiled it all and invaded Poland..It was allowed becuase until that point, it wasn't seen as a threat..like the commies until 1950..
