The last time we ignored this kind of thing was 1938, that's why we should help Ukraine, how can we be civilized nations when our word means nothing?

Take another laxative. You've got to have more coming.

I don't think you understand what I am trying to say, I don't define that as "help" the US didn't really need help for the other wars, the "hired help" was exactly that, it wasn't necessary in terms of forces, it was necessary in affirming legitimacy.

And you just pissed on the graves of the UK soldiers that died in place of what would have been American troops......congratulations for winning Jerk of the thread award

Im sorry if that bends the T&C but mod that was a incredibly insensitive and arsine comment.

Fine but those calling for the war should by pricinciple be the first ones into the breach.

blessed be the peace makers....or is that piece makers....never could get that straight...

Id be careful about the treaty talk - the next treaty that gets signed might be the UN small arms treaty...
wouldn't want that to trump the constitution...

I hear at least Putin went to his government first instead of issuing a communitarian decree like Obama would do...
...whats wrong with that picture?

re who won the last war
seems to me it was russia and winter and russians that brick walled Hitler and Nappy too...with some help

We should honor it I think, even if not, as part of the UN we should defend the ukraine against Russia.
F Russia and F their bullying tactics.
Russia have no right to invade after the people of Ukraine spoke and overthrew their leaders.

Russia should leave them alone and realze that the USSR is no more.

I just think we help those who can't defend themselves, after all that is what we promised in 1994, it's the right thing to do, if we don't what's the stop Russia taking Georgia, or Estonia?

Putin went to his Duma only after inserting Spenaz shock troops into Ukrainian territory to seize public infrastructure. Oh, and notice how the first thing totalitarian despots do is give guns to their supporters.

You can't really critique Russia, Putin saw a spot and he took it, people under estimate him too often, he is a strong leader, stronger than those opposing him right now

Fine but that not my point,

Those that are calling for war should be the first to pick up a rifle and go.

We have been to war for very suspect reasons over the past decade, this is a genuine call for help we are hearing, it's not people calling for war, it's people asking us to honor our commitments

I'm a former US Marine 0311 with more then 4 tours of OIF/OEF under my belt I don't draw my opinions from news agencies and people on ATS, I have worked extensively with foreign military, they are hired help. When was the last time anyone paid the US "aid" for I don't know anything? Don't try to sit there and chosen section of sentence by selected material after another try to make a point. I am not completely disagreeing with anything however find it oddly like clockwork when someone reads something they don't like instead of trying to understand it attacks it. What Multi-national task force have you worked for these past few years? I was with MNFI-MNCI as a protective services agent for some people you read about regularly on the internet and see and hear about on the news every day. People that went to war with the US wasn't really help it was about legitimacy not about help, further by others "help" who got helped? Who is helping who with the Ukraine issue what kind of help do you mean?

This has been my take on it from the start. Poland is a good example of how the EU/US/NATO have intentions towards the Russian borders. There are several factor involved but NATO and Missile Defense Shield are the two major objective. It's a massive opportunity to encroach upon further into the Russian borders. I would be concerned for my National Security and interests if I were Putin as well. It all seems transparent and understandable to me.

What?
Russian troops are there illegally, he's made protesting almost illegal and has made homosexuality almost illegal.
The guy is a monster and there is a lot to criticize.
He saw a spot? He's invading a sovereign nation and trying to start some kind of war.

I think he needs more than critiquing, I can't stand him.

I'm not pro-war, I am however, for standing up for people when we sign treaties saying we will help. How can we hold countries to standards we can't meet ourselves?

The British and American governments have only just finished making a mess of Iraq and Afghanistan, all because we didn't like those in power, are we really going to be hypocritical enough to criticise another country of doing the same, but to a place it boarders not one that is 8,000 miles away?

We are better than that here........ Are we not?
