We hit another shortcoming of the originally designed XMB core codebase. The database design never anticipated more than 32,767 threads in the auto-number field for thread ID. We hit the ceiling, and had some problems with new posts. It should be fixed now.

I blame John Titor - he should have warned us of this

For the threads that are blank will they show up or are they lost forever?

It seems ok to me now, although I got a few 'Page cannot be displayed' errors a few minutes ago.

There were a few new threads that may be lost. The code for computing the relation between threads and posts kept getting 32767 as the ID number of new threads, which then put everything after that into an escalating tail-spin. Once I realized what was happening, all it took was altering the ID field of the threads database to INTEGER, rather than SMALL INTEGER. Silly XMB programmers.

So if there was a blank topic can we go ahead and recreate the thread again?

at least they tried to optimize something, although one number isn't going to make or break board optimization.
