Walmart has announced that it is laying off up to 2,300 employees from Sam's Club, its members-only, bulk sales outlet stores.
The bulk of the layoffs will be made up of lower management. Walmart said in a press release that the move to cut assistant managers is an effort to make the company "more nimble." Other positions, such a telephone attendants, will also be eliminated in an effort to bring down costs.
Several US retailers slashed fourth-quarter profit forecasts after holiday sales were disappointing and by some reports, Walmart itself is said to have the worst gross profit margin of its peers.

Now it looks like Sam Club is going to layoff as many as 2300 people.
Mostly "lower management".
I guess nobody is immune to the deluge.
Sales are down all over the retail spectrum.
Maybe this economic recovery is just a case of BULLitis.
Now there will be more Obama.Care enlistees.
This is probably a consolidation because they are opening 15 new stores this year.

Costco is doing just fine and expanding!
Their regular employees start at no less than $11/hr and enjoy access to benefits provided in house through their pharmacy and optometry departments. Show them you want to work and you advance quickly. If you want to relocate that is.
but they are making massive profits as usual and sourcing from country's that pay staf $ 20 a week if that who sleep on factory floors after 20 hour days have staff on food stamps at home with no health care benefits avoid taxes like the plage and all the family are minted yip alls good
