Hello, if anyone could help me remember the song name and artist from the alternative rock video released in the mid 90's that had clips from the movie The Shawshank Redemption. Parts of the song are stuck in my head and I cant quite remember who the band was but its a good song I remember that.

There was a lot of good stuff from the 90's. It was the last decade that good music prevailed, actually. The past 10 years has been the worst decade of new music, like, ever.

Yep.60s/70s/90s were the best decades of music.
Music of the 2000s epitomizes vapid, over-produced, talentless marketing based cr@p.

As to the video, bupkus from me. The right combination of youtube search commands would probably yield something.

Our Lady Peace's "Naveed" and "Clumsy" Albums

Losing My Religion - REM

Portishead's album "Dummy"

Pretty much everything Foo Fighters released

Offspring

Weezer

Nine Inch Nails

Deftones

Radiohead

That's just music, movies were awesome in the 90s. The good things that came out of the 90s serves as the balm from the pain that was Spice Girls and the Macarena.

I thought for sure when I saw "90's music help" i'd get it. Male or female singer? Angry, sad, mellow? Got anything else to go on?

There is at least one other huge Alice In Chains fan here, Mad Season too.

The 90's had the last good generation of music.

Someone mentioned Portishead already, NIN, early SP, the first Korn album, Nirvanas Bleach album also perfect

The best band from the 90's imo, is not as well known as they should have been "Failure, Fantastic Planet" was the best album to come out of 90's.

Nobody has been close so far but it was an indie music vid from the 90's so I wouldn't expect many to know it. The song was not on the movie soundtrack or in the movie, it just had clip from the movie during the video. I can remember the sound of the song and what it looked like just not any names (.

So if anyone knows the music video in question I'd be really happy and would stop killin myself trying to remember the name.
