US Names Militants Involved in Benghazi Attack

January 10, 2014 (AP)

The Obama administration for the first time on Friday identified two militant groups in Libya, including one led by a former Guantanamo Bay detainee, as being allegedly involved in the attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

The department designated the two branches of the Ansar al-Sharia in Libya, those in the cities of Derna and Benghazi, and a third branch in Tunisia as foreign terrorist organizations.

It also named Sufian bin Qumu, the leader of the Derna branch, and Ahmed Abu Khattala, a senior leader of the Benghazi branch, as specially designated global terrorists.

The Sept. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi is still a political issue in Washington. Republicans in Congress criticized the Obama administration's handling of the attack and the level of security at the diplomatic outpost.

Umm... over a year later, US has supposedly finally got the bad guys' groups involved; it took them that long to come up with new 'Al-Qaeda' alternatives

Not only that, but one of the guys they've been torturing in Guantanamo since like forever, has been confirmed to be the LEADER of one of those 2 groups responsible for the Benghazi attack which killed 4 prominent Americans (ummm, Obama wasn't among them).

What are the odds?! Sure gives Guantanamo a good reputation, for stopping terror in tracks (or years after the fact).

And they decided on names. Wonder if they will change them later on, like the Benghazi's survivors, in order to 'protect' them too?

AKA creating it, also known as blowback.

I'm not sure a social issue exists that wasn't somehow created by a previous policy or action of government. This is inevitable, but it would be nice if they just blamed themselves for once.
