I ran across a thread on another site regarding 12 Monkeys being a Christmas film.

Having watched it a few times, I revisited it. Sure enough there are many subtle and not so subtle references to Christmas. Interesting.

But what really struck a chord was looking at the film through the lens of "predictive programming".

Given that many films, tv shows and news items contain messages for those with eyes to see and ears to hear, I don't take in information as entertainment anymore. I look for what is being said--what the real message is (see Kubrick et al).

Of all the DOOM topics going on from the ridiculous to the plausible, this one actually has some interesting things to consider. It's been brought up before on ATS (see: The 12 Monkeys Connection)

Here's a news item that hit MSM a few weeks back: Pneumonic "deadlier-than-bubonic" plague reported in Madagascar. The major outlets covered it but io9 had a good blurb:

The Pasteur Institute of Madagascar confirmed yesterday that a Madagascar village had lost at least twenty people to a deadly outbreak of the bubonic plague. Today, the BBC confirmed with officials that two cases of pneumonic plague – considered deadlier and more virulent than bubonic plague – have also been reported.

Bubonic Plague on wiki:
Research published in 2002 suggests that it began in the spring of 1346 in the steppe region, where a plague reservoir stretches from the northwestern shore of the Caspian Sea into southern Russia. The Mongols had cut off the trade route, the Silk Road, between China and Europe which halted the spread of the Black Death from eastern Russia to Western Europe. The epidemic began with an attack that Mongols launched on the Italian merchant's last trading station in the region, Caffa in the Crimea.[14] In the autumn of 1346, plague broke out among the besiegers and from them penetrated into the town. When spring arrived, the Italian merchants fled on their ships, unknowingly carrying the Black Death. Carried by the fleas on rats, the plague initially spread to humans near the Black Sea and then outwards to the rest of Europe as a result of people fleeing from one area to another.

MERSA on wiki:
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a bacterium responsible for several difficult-to-treat infections in humans. It is also called oxacillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (ORSA). MRSA is any strain of Staphylococcus aureus that has developed, through the process of natural selection, resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics, which include the penicillins (methicillin, dicloxacillin, nafcillin, oxacillin, etc.) and the cephalosporins. Strains unable to resist these antibiotics are classified as methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus, or MSSA. The evolution of such resistance does not cause the organism to be more intrinsically virulent than strains of Staphylococcus aureus that have no antibiotic resistance, but resistance does make MRSA infection more difficult to treat with standard types of antibiotics and thus more dangerous. MRSA is especially troublesome in hospitals, prisons and nursing homes, where patients with open wounds, invasive devices, and weakened immune systems are at greater risk of infection than the general public.

In the film, the survivors go underground until they can figure out a way to get a non-mutated virus sample from which to develop an anti-virus.

While everyone worries about end-of-the-world doom from comets, aliens and cloned presidents, the historically proven destroyer--bubonic plague (now mutated to pneumonic plague) is the thing to watch for.

TV & film serve as entertainment for sure. But that entertainment is also programming. Anyone who opens their mind can see the crumbs that MSM has left prior to major man-made doom dramas, shootings, fake news, war.

The survivor dystopia society in 12 Monkeys is a foreshadow of what has been going on in the construction of Deep Underground Military Bases (D.U.M.B.) and underground "cities".

The nuke scare, and that is exactly what it is--a fear tactic, is a psyop for the most part. The liklihood of billions wiped out from nukes is yet to be seen as the psyop films written and produced at Lookout Mountain Laboratory, NASA and the current MSM shootings/terror clearly show Disney-esque special effects and actors playing their roles. All of this designed to keep a population in control.

And while people can claim the massive deaths in many of these events, the big one has always been virus and bacteria.

This is the one to watch. Earth upheaval may happen, ISON may whip its tail into earth, war might wipe out selected populations, but the proven killer on this planet is biological.

Plague "news" (precursor?)
Silk Road shut down (symbolic)
D.U.M.B. (ultimate preppers)
Overpopulation
FEMA camps
CDC warnings
NASA warnings
Predictive programming in film, tv & news

Watch the film with a critical eye. Look for the clues. Hidden in plain sight.

Stay alert.

Nice conjecture, as it is always said "the truth is stranger than fiction"...
I have wondered at some movies like this many times. Especially when movies become reality such as making teleporters, photon guns and other cool gadgets.

One has to wonder if art is imitating life or is life imitating art...

There were always three types of plague - standard, pneumonic, and septicemic. What differed wasn't the organism but the course of the infection.

All three forms are the same organism in a different body system. Pneumonic attacks the lungs. It has a leg up in that it can be spread through infected sputum droplets whereas the other two must rely on fleas because their infected body fluids are internal - lymph and blood.

There is no mutation needed or involved.
