For those who missed it; Polk County Texas Judge Elizabeth Coker was caught red-handed texting the assistant DA in an attempt to secure a conviction in a trail she was presiding over. Obviously a huge miscarrige of justice.

Judge Coker used Assistant District Attorney Jones to privately communicate information about the Reeves case to the assistant district attorney prosecuting the case; to suggest questions for the prosecutor to ask during the trial; to ensure that a witness was able to refresh his memory and rehabilitate his testimony by reviewing his videotaped interview with law enforcement before he took the stand for the second time the following day; and to discuss legal issues pertinent to the case. in an unsuccessful effort to assist the State obtain a guilty verdict in the caseā€¦

...She has been forced to resign in lieu of disciplinary action...

If the fact that she was allowed to resign without charges was not enough our good friend (ex) Judge Coker is now running for DA.

If you happen to know anyone in Polk County, TX please make sure they are aware of this criminal's past so we can keep her from attempting to ruin any more innocent lives.

Cheers!

The sad thing is that while she was caught, I wonder how many others get away with it on a daily basis? There should be some sort of electronic void in courtrooms. It certainly is a shame that we can't even trust those who are elected to protect and serve! What a world

These kinds of thins are done in "chambers" on a routine basis. The indiscretion was that this one was made in public view. So they had to do 'something' and in so doing 'they' allowed her to run again, but in a different capacity. Remember - the state is out to get you no matter what.

BTW - what was the final disposition of the case as regards the defendant?
