The California board of health insurance exchanges (Covered California) says N-O to insurance plans that don't meet ObamaCare's minimum coverage standards.

Even though President Obama has given the O-K, the board still says N-O.

That means O-O if you want to keep your old plan.

It looks like loads of confusion at least in California.

All part of the *PLAN*

The board of California's health insurance exchange, Covered California, on Thursday decided not to allow insurance plans that do not meet Obamacare standards to continue operating in that state, according to Health-care reform specialist Stacy Chagolla helps William Bishop compare plans at the free Affordable Care Act Enrollment Fair at Pasadena City College on Tuesday.

The move effectively rejects the fix President Barack Obama proposed to salve the deeply troubled rollout of the Affordable Care Act.

That state already faces an age-old health insurance challenge: The old folks are outrunning the kids in the race to sign up for California's insurance. If the trend continues, it might lead to higher premiums down the line.

Yes, well you see, our California totalitarians consider the Federal criminal totalitarians sissies. They say if you can't run with the BIG Progressive Dogs, stay on the porch.

We plan to get to Utopia 10 years before everyone else....

At the rate people are fleeing the state it may be empty by then and voila, peace at last.

Back to the OP, this is probably going to crop up again and again in different states who are just trying to get through this mess. I mean their just going with the first rule-set so to speak since they have to comply down the road anyway.

Who knows what new temporary directive Obama is going to pull out of his... er, brain next week. The guy is a total menace.

hahaha- Sadly- This is the truest comment I have read in a long time.

Well played.

On topic- They are all liars, and they are starting to eat each other. I hope theres only a few left at the end.

Then we can get good healthcare without all of the idiots trying to run it.

I guess the real question is if there should be standards or not, and if the standards being sought by Obamacare are reasonable. California has a huge economy all on its own and can drive direction in many ways. Taking their own path is a good thing if it gets the rest of us to follow a more sensible course, and it is just that which should be debated (and already has I am sure). Should there be higher standards or different standards or is it all just buyer beware? I recently received new business insurance and my agent said to check it out and see what I think..... its about 100 pages of small print legalese.... just as bad as an Apple update! Who reads that crap??????? Our Congress signs bills alllllll the time without reading them! All sorts of garbage gets slipped in for various political factions and ..... corrupt bribery doings, we all know that. I don't see that California holding out for high standards is a bad thing all on its own. Reform is needed widely across the spectrum of our society if you ask me! Imagine.... if doctors didn't need to get rich, people could afford health care, and then.... profit making insurance companies wouldn't even be needed! Cutting out that middle man that sucks up the moola! Lawsuits wouldn't automatically be for millions and millions of dollars for emotional distress! Our system is crazy, its broken (unless you are the one making alllll that money in our current form), and it needs Fixin'!

socialized health care here we come, well once this mess we have now has completely broken down and the citizens are begging for "something". seems their intention all along, just wish they would have consulted their people on it first.

CA is democrat all the way, probably more so than Obama. They want to give away EVERYONE'S money, that's why they are in so much debt. Slam away.

What an absolute dump.

People that reside there, you get what you deserve.

Oh, and to the residents of Cali, please stay there and quit bringing your crap to the Western States.

California just became Democrat when their economy went to crap The Governator was in charge what party did he belong to? And seeing how they raised taxes and cut spending they can now afford their day to day expenses. And in this economy when a state says they are breaking even that's not too bad. Especially when it's the ninth largest economy in the world.

California is exercising their states rights good for them.

Yes that demon known as socialized healthcare. So sad to think of Americas overprice failed healthcare system might actually be used in a good way. Just think America giving healthcare to it's citizens like other major nations on the planet. Why is a nation that is supposed to be so Christian so against giving healthcare to the poor?

they already have it... its called medicaid. For the elderly we have medicare. For those who fall in the cracks there are free clinics or doctors and hospitals that adjust according to income.

If you have a pre-existing condition most insurance plans prior to Obamacare wanted you to pay in for 6 months before they will cover you but they will cover you..

I don't think anyone else can be classified as needy.

The only thing keeping me in California is I can't afford to leave.
Every dime my wife and earn is already assigned to some debt.
And it's only getting worse as ACA comes into affect.

In order to leave, we'd have to literally leave everything here.

So, you use Bill Maher as your argument basis???

Yeah, okay then. I see your problem there.

You really on Comedy Central to give you the news. Everyone else doesn't.

What are those unemployment stats again???
What are those exodus stats again?
What is the budget with income again???

Care to try again?

Uh, Swartzenegger was the one known as "the Governator", not Gray Davis.
