I don't think the Russian satellite is of sufficient size etc. . . .

IIRC . . . unless I'm missing verses up . . . it's a "mountain" [large meteor?] that crashes into the sea causing such devastation.

You're calling the prophecies in the 53 chapter of Isaiah ambiguous?

Sheesh.

Sigh.

There's other very specific ones about Christ in the Psalms.

Here's something interesting I noticed while on Space.com. There's a Russian satellite about to crash down to Earth in about a week. What's interesting about it in these strange times is this prophecy from the bible:

Rev 8:10-11 "And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter."

I've always assumed that Wormwood would be an Asteroid or a Comet but this makes me wonder if this Russian satellite crash will be the real Wormwood.

I think Cayce has a similiar prediction but I can't find it. Anyway, what say you, ATS?

Thank you very much for that reply, the link and video. I love input from others about these matters. Personally I believe we are witness to many of these events unfolding. It is important to view the modern world thru their ancient eyes to understand the symbology they used. What we take for granted in our world was mystical and unexplained to them. They had no words to describe what they were shown in visions and did the best they could.

Nowadays not only the events are unfolding but the interpretations of them are only now coming to light.

That what Revelations means... to be revealed or yet to be revealed (or some such).

My husband thinks people read more into prophecy than is really there and believes that the point of religion in general is so that we live an upright life and know God when we die so he does not concern himself with predictive prophecy or trying to interpret it.. says everything will pan out in the end the way God wants it to.

I agree with him on the point of religion. I disagree with him about prophecy.

When you look at prophecy, I believe as you do, that we are witnessing its unfolding. I believe that if we all change our ways it could change course, but if we do not we will bear witness to the Return of the Imam (as) and Jesus. (as)

I believe that there are signs that were to warn us that we are going off of God's course, but people won't heed those signs during a time the people don't look to God anymore.

Everyone wants to say it will happen like this or happen like that, but in the bible it says that people will be marrying and giving in marriage and wont heed those signs during the times being prophesied of... which means, imho, people wont be recognizing the signs for what they are... prophecy coming true.

And I do believe it IS coming true. And it is coming true according to more than one religion.

However, predictive prophecy does have one thing in mind, to change our behaviors. Neither myself or my husband believes in last minute repenting, repentance right before we see death is too late, imho. We should always have our house in order so that when and/or if those times befall us we were prepared. Those people who are waiting to start seeing the signs unfold before they change will never see the signs, and for them it will all be too late.

(As a beside... I am not a Christian, but my husband is, even though he does not like to be classified as a christian because he thinks most Christians have lost the plot...I dont know if that makes a difference to anyone but it may go toward explaining my viewpoint more anyway.)

Different people have different gifts. And its important to be humble about it. Your husband is right. We shouldn't obsess too much. But not keep our candle under a basket either.

Feel free in the future to share with me on other threads about this if we happen to meet. I liked what you said and the links you brought.

They made a plan, a schedule and they fulfill it...

If you create a book with your own plan and pass it into humans with some paranormal dressing sauces... Then, you have the founds and technology to make it come true, it will end up like " prophecies coming true " . I would suggest you to wake up and move on, abandon this stereotypes. When you do that, you will start realising about whats goin on into this world. It will be a start...

until then, you unwittingly giving them energy and confidense of destroying the world.

I could also translate you from my country a prophecy. Υou will notice , what "prophecies" do into humans mind that they are under hypnosis...

It's true that it's a small satellite, and shouldn't cause much damage but what if. We don't really know what's up there 100%. If there are satellites that fall back to Earth all of the time then why don't we ever hear about those? Why is this specific satellite crash being announced on Space.com? I mean that this is ATS. Where would we be without some Doom Porn every now and again?

If I were to buy into such things I would be much more concerned about ISON being wormwood.

Here's the thing though.

With respect to prophecy, particularly Biblical prophecy, what will be will be. I think we get into dangerous territory when we talk about trying to avert it. I suppose maybe I've also read a few too many fantasy novels dealing with the subject also, but if you try to avert a prophecy, how can you know for sure that what you are doing isn't only helping to bring it about?

No, in the end, I watch, try to keep myself on the right side of God, try to keep my family on the right side of God, call things as I see them and go on with my life because while I think I see things coming to pass, it does say that we will not know for sure when it will all come to pass.

I'd sure hate to bunker up and find out that the earth-shattering kaboom I was so sure was going to come to pass really didn't ...

I don't believe this is wormwood but I cannot help but to feel the season is here.

I can feel it. We all can if we are honest.

This wicked broke down morally corrupt world makes my heart sing, make a way for the king, the king is coming!

I must not be a part of "all".

I can't feel a damn thing that tells me the world is going to end.

The world won't end for a very very long time..(IMO) Even biblically it doesn't actually say it will end. It says the Earth will be born "anew". I think maybe the better words are "dramatically change". For this reason, "doom porn" for me means nothing. I think the world is due for dramatic change, and on that, I think most agree.

Here's a question. Why would you think that the Bible would be completely and specifically accurate about the name "Wormwood," yet not think that it was also completely accurate when it very specifically calls it a "star?"

Who are you do decide where the Bible is 100% accurate and where it needs some "interpretation?"

Or are you just a heretic?

As Noted in my first post in this thread:

16) The Greek word ἀστήρ means not only star and famous, but also strewn over the sky

17) An ever-increasing body of evidence suggests that the New Testament may have been originally written in Aramaic rather than Greek. The Aramaic word for star, kwkb, can be both noun and verb - for example, to be made a star

If everyone in the world lived according to their respective religions in the manner in which they were meant to be followed (and not what idiots interjected) then we would not be facing any of this now...

we would live without war, and in a state of peace and goodwill... everyone would... We would face natural disaster etc but neighbors helping neighbors and living upright and with charity for others there would be no serious effect.

People would live good, and die well, all in accordance with God's will.

But this did not happen, we are selfish, spoiled, egotistical, have a desire for power and domination over others, greedy, and the list can go on...

So, yes, it could have all been averted however, it had to be done by all of us, and not just a few handfuls here and there. Predictive prophecy is just that... if you dont do this as a human race... this will happen. So now, we are here... and facing exactly what we were told would happen as a result.

To some degree I agree with you. I once had a vision something would occur... I saw it as a vision from God so I tried to stop it from happening. However, it was because of MY actions in trying to avert what I saw, which MADE it happen. If I had never tried to stop it from happening, it may never have happened.

I never knew or understood why I had that vision if I could not prevent it... but after this I knew to still my feet when I did have a vision about something. God has a plan, and it is only to us to live the best we can according to His Perfect Will and not our own minds.

As far as bunkering down because of something we "think" we know... that is stupid. We are not to stop living life just because we see what we believe is predictive prophecy coming to pass. We could ALWAYS be wrong! I am always the first to admit that I know nothing.... I just think I do sometimes

Whenever I think I am smart, God has a way of showing me how wrong I really was... lol... sad but true!

Correction people! I've found the prophecy which speaks of the heavenly dwelling place that crashes upon the Earth. It's a Hopi Indian prophecy:

"And this is the Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a BLUE STAR. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of my people will cease." It's been assumed that the Skylab crash of 1979 was the fullfillment of prophecy but maybe it's comet Ison. We shall see.

The following extraordinary Hopi prophecy was first published in a mimeographed manuscript that circulated among several Methodist and Presbyterian churches in 1959. Some of the prophecies were published in 1963 by Frank Waters in The Book of the Hopi.
