This has been perfectly obvious to many people right from the start; giving money to the banks only enriches the banks and the super-rich. That has been all that the government seems to be able to come up with in their efforts to stimulate the economy (except that stupid cash for clunkers debacle that took used, affordable cars off the market and put even MORE people in debt).

Now, it seems, the majority of Americans are finally waking up to the realization that the government's economic policies are only benefiting the rich.

Majority of Americans say banks, large corporations benefitted most from U.S. economic policies

In the public’s view, the beneficiaries of these policies are large banks and financial institutions, large corporations and wealthy people, according to a survey conducted earlier this month. Sizable majorities say government policies have helped all three at least a fair amount – 69% say that about large banks and financial institutions, 67% large corporations and 59% wealthy people.

Meanwhile, fewer than a third say policies implemented by the government following the recession have helped the poor, middle class and small businesses. Roughly seven-in-ten say government policies have done little or nothing to help the poor (72%), the middle class (71%) and small businesses (67%).

When they get that blatant in their support of the banksters and big corporations, even the most blind party hack can see that the people they have elected do not have their best interests at heart. Even the "people's party" seems to have sided with the rich and the banksters while leaving the rest of us to rot at the side of the road.

I think it's time we started moving back to home safes and keep our money out of the banks! That or use a credit union. If we remove our cash, the banks fail. Banks fail, we bring the government to it's knees, pure and simple. No need for a bloody revolution, just take their money away from them.

You're talking nickel and dime stuff. The real fortunes are being made from the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve. This money is paid by the taxpayer on interest on loans secured by our governments.

Oh I understand that quite well. But pulling funds from the banks allows the true colors to shine through. Pulling our funds from banks would be the start of the economic revolution needed to effect change.

The American people are waking up and it is encouraging and terrifying all at the same time.

On the one hand it restores a little bit of faith in mankind and our eventual ability to evolve as a society. On the other hand however I fear that without the ability to control people's minds through the 20th century media the powers that be will result to force.

Yes they will. They have been training for it for a while now. And that will be the straw that breaks the US citizens back! There is a reason no other country has invaded us since the revolutionary war. We are too heavily armed of a population. The powers that be would do well to remember that. You do not want to wake the sleeping giant. He has teeth and will use them!

That would actually cause the government to borrow more money to support the banks, thus more taxpayers money going to those investors in BoE and FR.

What's needed is a government of the people, with some-one strong and honest at the forefront. We could then look to issue our own money as Germany did prior to WW2.

I think at that stage of the game the American citizen, at least those with some balls willing to oppose such an action, would not be contributing to the IRS pot-o-cash anyways making it an exercise in futility. The funding would come from the Bank of Rothschild with the hopes of reigning in and subduing the discontented population.
