If gun control worked, Chicago would be Mayberry

Here’s a little something to start your weekend off with a bang. Cam Edwards, who many of you already know from Twitter and NRA News fame, was invited to address the Independence Institute’s Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms event last weekend. There was a host of goodness coming out of this address – far too much to be captured in a single transcript – but so very worth your time if you’re looking for some Saturday morning viewing. The title here gives a decent sense to the overall flavor, but let’s just go to the video and a few highlights.

Video is spot on about quite a lot of things.

If gun control worked this entire country would be Mayberry.Gun control laws punish those of us who have done nothing wrong.

You can't be trusted is what they are saying to gun owners.

You have to beg government's permission to own a gun.

The anti gun proponents will passionately vilify gun owners, then turn around and shout, 'don't you dare pass voter ID laws'.

Watch the video or don't.

Believe in your constitutional second amendment right's or don't.

I do.

I always will.

The right of the people shall not be infringed.

May as well be Rahm, he makes about as much sense as ol' Gabby does.

The important question to find out is why do 700 plus people feel the need to kill someone in Chicago each year with guns or many other means? Chicago is not even close (16th) per 100,000 to the worst either. What is it in big cities that drives people to kill? Why is New Orleans 57.6 per 100,000 in murders and Seattle is only 3.2 per 100,000.

Multiple Choice

Gun control does work at a national level. Just look at every country that has it and compare violent crimes rates. Nobody can dispute that. However, that matters not as the Constitution allows the right to own guns. Do let the anti gun control crowd make you look like an idiot by having you defend a position that 1. your wrong about and 2, has no bearing on the debate.

I agree that some do look like idiots as the violation of civil liberties called gun control.

As it clearly stated, the second amendment, and the ninth amendment, as well as the 10 amendment is clear.

Gun control works ?

Then do tell why are the police,the military, and the criminals all better armed than the average citizen.

Then explain to me why the government gets to take away my guns, and gives the same weapons, and worse to any 2 bit dictator, drug cartel, or terrorist around the globe.

Anyone they deem 'friendly' to them.

Seems there is some cognitive dissonances going on with the gun control crowd.
