We can all agree some people don't deserve guns, just like we can all agree that every other American has a right to keep theirs.

Fair enough.

I found it rather disturbing seeing people give up their guns to Law Enforcement and National Guard troops during Katrina. It was unbelievable that anyone would be compliant at a time when they were truly needed for protection. If I remember correctly a Federal Judge wasn't very happy with the Governors decision to seek out and confiscate legally owned guns Katrina or not. Seeing that I have no doubt a lot of folks would probably comply with such an order in the future.

I would hope no law abiding gun owner would ever comply but obviously some will. Legislators will always be more of a threat to public safety than any legal gun owner.

I think the the great numbers of legally owned guns would dwindle immediately,
because law abibing gun owners, are law abiding, before they're gun owners.
Great post to remind us of Katrina.
