Eastern Shore professors to get bulletproof whiteboards

Calling "campus violence a reality" to prepare for, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore announced plans Thursday to spend $60,000 on the Clark Kent of teacher supplies: an innocuous-looking white board that can stop bullets.

What you mean to say them signs that say 'gun free zone' doesn't work ?

The high-tech tablet — which hangs on a hook, measures 18 by 20 inches and comes in pink, blue and green — can be used as a personal shield for professors under attack, according to the company that makes it, and a portable writing pad in quieter times.

Professors under attack ?

WHAT ABOUT THE STUDENTS ?

Don't think a whiteboard(that's racist) can sheild the rest of the class from bullets that are suppose to be stopped with a sign that says 'no guns allowed here'.

$60,000 and those 'professor's' think this is a good idea ?

Here is a thought buy everyone who goes to school their own bullet 'proof' vests. or take that $60k and hire security guards.

Wow talk about side stepping the issues at hand. We have had armed guard (Resource Officer) in our schools for years, I fully advocate it.

Well, if we had actual gun control regulations in this country "Law abiding gun owners" wouldn't be shooting up places like schools, and theatres, and military bases.

But as long as "Law abiding gun owners" only recognize the last part of the 2nd Amendment as the ONLY law in the universe, the non criminally insane have to have the right to protect themselves somehow.

WE DO.

And 'law biding gun owners' ARE NOT the ones who are going around shooting up gun free zones.

But as long as "Law abiding gun owners" only recognize the last part of the 2nd Amendment as the ONLY law in the universe, the non criminally insane have to have the right to protect themselves somehow.

Actually the second and the ninth amendments of the US constitution are rather CLEAR.

And we have seen how laws only punish AFTER THE FACT they don't STOP anything.
