Ramps required in all new homes - Austin, TX

I'm from St. Louis but am residing in Austin for the time being. Coming from a blue collar population that knows how to live by their own wits and means I am constantly shaking my head at folks down here. Austin is a nanny city. There is a lot of wealthy folks down here that relish the idea of controling and spending other peoples money. If one is over weight I would think stairs would be for the best, and lots of them.
