On 15th April 2013, a couple whack-jobs detonated a bomb in Boston at the Marathon.
Three people died and several hundreds were injured.

Make no mistake, this is a tragedy, there is no doubt about it and most of us will hopefully agree. Lots has already been said and posted.

BUT...for 20 days now, there is NOTHING ELSE on the media (CNN etc.) but the bombing. They talk about the bombing, the bomber, their motives, the injured and of course the dead.

Again, make no mistake, three dead is a horrible thing, but the truth is that accidents and catastrophes happen every day where a LOT more people die.

While the Marathon bombing was #1 topic on all major news site and obviously there is nothing "more important" than that...a factory in Bangladesh exploded, killing 350 (THREE HUNDRED FIFTY) people. This was "minor" news. I wonder how many innocent people died in the 20 days since gone in car accidents, drunk driving, murder, wars and and what not.

The constant news about the Marathon bombing slowly gets annoying and embarrasing - showing clearly how America is obsessed with terrorism, to a point that people in NY are already freaking out over nightly fireworks. In terms of damage, death toll and whatever political impact I think the Boston bombing is entirely irrelevant. More pressing things are going on on this planet - REALLY.

Yet, you created a thread on the exact event you are complaining about here? If you truly felt that way, then why mention the event in the thread title and risk using it in a very thinly veiled attempt to advance your own agenda?
(which, BTW, is against the ATS T&C, look it up).

The better argument for your point since it was also a local event was the explosion in Texas. Way more damage (in lives and entire sections of properties obliterated). talking about one nonstop for months furthers someone's agenda, I guess. Make us all fearful when we are more likely to die of bee swarm attack than terrorism (not joking). We heard about the Texas thing for what, two days before it was swept under the rug? The company was storing something like 1,000 times the legally allowed amount of volatile fertilizer. the owner must be a 1%er or friends with some to make the story vanish so fast. People don't seem to care as much because this was a work/business-related catastrophe. We have to stop giving corporations a free pass in our society.

Unfortunately.....

"If it bleeds, it leads"

Is a quote the MSM live by.

It has been this way for ages with News companies. Ever since JFK.

That's a bygone era. Now if it protects the DNC it leads.

There was a LOT of blood, murder and putrid human behavior at the Gosnell trial and the MSM were silent.
