Only in Israel:

Go on...

a new app for android phones lets drivers know if they are about to drive into a mob of Arabs armed with firebombs and rocks.

Such ambushes have killed and maimed many Israelis over the years, including a baby girl, Adelle Biton, who has been barely clinging to life in the Schneider Children's Hospital since last month.

As reported exclusively on the Tamar Yonah Show, The app was invented by a person who prefers to be identified only by the name Elad, and is being offered for free. To download the mp3

Well it's no secret Israeli's and Arab's from Gaza and the West Bank are not very fond of each other so it doesn't surprise me that an app like this would arise, especially since a baby girl is in critical condition, but is the app racist? Perhaps that's the reason why the inventor wants to remain anonymous. I recall a similar app in America last year that was deemed racist.

Microsoft 'Avoid Ghetto' App Sparks Controversy

These days it seems like there's an app for everything. But one app has stirred mixed emotions in its attempt to help make pedestrians' lives a little bit easier.

Microsoft is being slammed for its new feature that some have dubbed the "avoid ghetto" app, although it still does not have an official name. The app is meant to help anyone traveling on foot avoid bad weather, tough terrain and unsafe neighborhoods, NPR reports. It uses a combination of information from maps, weather reports, crime statistics and demographics to give users a comprehensive route recommendation. But while some say it is an innocent GPS system that features important information, others criticize it for reinforcing negative assumptions about certain neighborhoods and the people that live there.

Obviously Israel, Gaza, the West Bank and America are very different places with very different problems but is this new app racist or a response to protect oneself when traveling the country. The America app "Avoid Ghetto" was thought to have reinforced racism and stereotype a group of people but in Israel does the same thought apply?

I do wonder how the app becomes aware of angry Arab mobs armed with rocks and bombs. Does it work like the police trap apps where app users report where the speed traps are or does it use information from all available government sources and media outlets?

The FBI would have to develop that app since they plan a majority of the attacks & then pat themselves on the back for stopping said attacks. Well, the FBI, US Govt, and actual terrorist factions, although good news about terrorists since they do sometimes warn of their upcoming attacks.
