Documentary ‘The War on Kids’ compares U.S. public schools to prison system

If this isn't synchronicity, I don't know what is. On the cable Documentary Channel, I just watched a film titled 'The War on Kids.' I also recorded the event on my DVR.

On another thread we've been having a discussion about the Collective School System Owning Your Children, and your children no longer belong to the parents. Or however you translate what that thread is about.

In this film titled 'War on Kids,' the emphasis is on the collective school system's over-authoritarian dogma turning children off from education. In essence, the collective public school system is abusing our children.

That’s what the documentary “The War on Kids” says.

Based on interviews with educators, medical professionals, students and sociologists, the documentary, which received a limited film festival run in 2009 and is being released this week on the Documentary Channel, paints the picture of an increasingly authoritarian and paranoid school system that is failing its students, stripping them of their civil liberties and constitutional rights.

Like I said, I'm recording this episode on the Documentary Channel. There are many enlightening interviews about the collective doing a vast injustice to our capitalist system that supports the public school collective. No wonder so many hard working tax payers rail at the thought that property tax dollars go to an education system that is likened to a prison system.

This video has just been released on the Documentary Channel. It will be aired again. For those who want to watch and record the documentary, to share with your friends and family.

The Rutherford Institute is dedicated to the preservation of civil liberties and civil rights. They have this to say about 'The War on Kids.' I mean, this documentary raises issues such as children being force fed medication in our collective school system. There are instances cited where children have died from this collective force feeding as determined by our so-called educators.

Most recently, Institute attorneys asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case of a 14-year-old honor student who was suspended for shooting plastic “spitwads” while at school.

Thanks for the trailer. This documentary is an outright indictment of how our children are being turned against the public school system. Which may not be a bad idea. At one time we told kids to stay in school. More and more we're telling kids to get out of school. Go into trade school or something more productive.

Then we can get into the issue of vouchers, etc....the need for a choice where to send your child to school. Instead of being told by the systemata where to send your child to be owned by the collective.

What is more revealing though is some of the responses that have been posted.

What I don't get from socialists is that on the one hand they complain about the New World Order. On the chase side of the argument, the same ones who complain about the New World Order readily surrender to the collective.

It's like jumping out from behind a tree to yell Boo at a mirror image. New World Order. Collective of the Education System. Where's the dividing line?

Meanwhile, there's a report of a multiple stabbing on a college campus in Houston. No guns, apparently. Just knives.

Sigh.....maybe it's not synchronicity that our schools are becoming sites of violence. The collective/New World Order systemata breeds a lot of anger.

The Documentary Channel today has an interesting lineup of films about children.

There is 'The War on Kids,' which is being replayed as I write.

Just finished taping 'The Devil's Miner.' It's about a young Bolivian kid who wants to make enough money to move off the mountain and into the city where he can go to school to hopefully become a civil engineer. But the truth is that most kids never get out of the silver mines in Bolivia. And that a miner's life is a very short one.

‘The Devil’s Miner’ tells the story of 14-year-old Basilio who worships the devil for protection while working in a Bolivian silver mine to support his family.

The Devil's Miner is a 2005 documentary film directed by independent film directors Kief Davidson and Richard Ladkani. The film follows a fourteen-year-old Bolivian boy named Basilio Vargas who along with his twelve-year-old brother Bernardino work in the mines near the city of Potosí. The film includes many subtle realities of the miner's lives such as the need to chew coca leaves to numb the pain of hunger and the long shifts they work regardless of age.[1] The film made its world premier at the Rotterdam film festival and its U.S. debut at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The film concentrates on the concerns of local workers who have fear of what they call “Tio” or devil. In the film, an elder miner claims that over 8 million people have died in the unsafe mines. The workers believe this is because “Tio” controls the mine and that Christ has no power in the mine.

Excellent issue this raises. I think it is fairly widespread and damaging to children and their education. I never understood why we do not use models that work. There are many pilot schools where children are succeeding but you do not hear too much about them although they do occasionally make the news. I know what works in one area does not necessarily work in others but to tell the truth, yes they do. Great ideas in education WILL work in other areas if people simply find what works and repeat it.

A demand for the mined product creates this. If the miners were paid the fair market value instead of being used as slaves they might be able to leave the business and support themselves. They are slaves so that the rich can get richer. Such a shame, an atrocity, and waste of human life.

I imagine you are talking about satellite schools in the public high school system.

At least that is what they are called in Florida. Certain schools are chosen to be satellite schools that focus on a specialized subject.

For instance, a satellite high school is chosen to focus on Marine Biology. Students throughout the county who have exhibited a special ability for marine sciences are allowed to go to that school focusing on Marine Biology studies. With the intent of going on to a university that specializes in Marine Sciences.

Another satellite school might be dedicated to theater and performing arts. Another to higher levels of math. Etcetera...Etcetera...

I don't know if the liberals have protested that these schools discriminate against their children. Or if they designated a satellite school for goofing off and smoking dope at lunch time.

Other than that, I've heard that the satellite school system has worked wonders. It's not oriented by race or religion or anything. Students are admitted based on their grades and test scores. I suspect there are liberal students who are actually very bright in a science or a math curriculum. Long as they are not doing jail time for selling drugs or something.

And don't ask me what role affirmative action plays in these satellite schools. Cause I don't get involved in the politics of the high school system.

I do know the Catholic schools generally have the best sport's teams and produce the best athletes for college. Because the Catholic schools are not bound by districts. Whichever student has athletic ability and can say a few prayers from memory are admitted to the Catholic school football, basketball teams.

That's what Lebron James did when he was a kid playing on a Catholic high school basketball team. He went right from the high school to the pros....skipped college basketball completely.

Well, that's life in Boliva.

A child of the mountains can escape to the city to get a better education if that child can come up with the money to escape the mountains. The silver mines are the only jobs available for ten or eleven year old kids.

Most of the kids never make it out of the mines to the city schools. They're either trapped helping feed their families after their fathers have died in the mines. Or they die in the mines at a young age.

Juxtaposed to what liberal American school kids have to endure....you wonder what makes the liberal kids whine so much about their lives. Other than realizing that whining and liberalism are twins.

Holy Moly....what would liberal American high school kids do if there was a military draft sending eighteen year olds off to war in Korea, or something? They'd be going to Canada in droves.....except I hear Canada won't accept draft dodgers any more.

Oh, well.....maybe some time on the battlefield front lines in Korea would make them appreciate being at home in America again. Who knows?

the Bolivian mines that this kid is working are worked out and these people are just working the little crumbs left. the only way to ever make any money on the hill they are working is to take down the hill and heap leach it and its unlikely that will ever happen.

The reason everyone chew coca leaves is the mine is at 13,420 ft and its common for the people there at that altitude to chew coca leaves.

Get rid of the Dept. of Education, Big Pharma, and the teachers union - let school districts set up their own schools and give parents school vouchers so that they can send their kids to the schools they want.

Just sending kids in school uniforms makes a difference - some communities may want to seperate the males from the females - really shows that girls learn a lot more advanced math this way.

Let communities decide how to best spend their property tax dollars.

Let interested parties set up band, or sports, or debate teams - will get a lot of people who don't have kids in school interested in participating in their communities.

Smaller equals better and more common sense control.

Compare those poor bolivian children with inner city youth born into intergenerational welfare families. and crime.

Not pretty and what's on the inside is not at all what people see on the outside. Lot's of skullduggery and antics there totally unrelated to education. She made sure we attended the public school that was about 20 miles farther away.

Not pretty and what's on the inside is not at all what people see on the outside. Lot's of skullduggery and antics there totally unrelated to education. She made sure we attended the public school that was about 20 miles farther away.

I'm not attacking this generation that calls themselves liberals. I'm merely pointing out what they've devolved into.

Liberals aren't liberals anymore. Not according to the traditional definition of liberalism. Liberalism used to be the freethinker's society. Today? Liberals are cogs in the collective who have deluded themselves into believing they have brilliant liberal ideas.

They're the bricks in the wall.

They're the New World Order feudal system serfs.
