The essence of wisdom and eternal truth does not seem to change over the life of our species - hence the Perennial Philosophy. It can be detected in world religions.

It connects them all.

All religions, all this singing, one song.
The differences are just illusion and vanity.

Sunlight looks a little different on this wall
than it does on that wall

and a lot different on this other one,
but it is still one light.

-Rumi

"Language is originally and essentially nothing but a system of signs or symbols, which denote real occurrences, or their echo in the human soul."

-Carl Jung

Let me tell you something..you earned my star and flag before I even opened the thread. The title says it all really. I'm not going to lie, I didn't even read the content of the thread before replying.

I read the title, saw who posted it.

Thanks bud.

Not much response as usual. Most people are stuck thinking of mythology as either lies or facts. Depending on whether you are talking about their personal mythology or someone elses. So an approach that challenges that black-and-white dichotomy isn't going to be attractive to most ATSers.

Someday we'll find it. The rainbow connection between world religions.

Very true. Perennial philosophy reinforces many conclusions that are reached when studying Carl Jung's collective consciousness. My spiritual path not only allows me to respect the faiths of others but I'm actually encouraged to insist upon a person's path not being incorrect.

If a person is gaining spiritual food from their faith and is not being dragged down a dark path of bigotry and dogma, I'll support their faith and never try to lead them astray.

Yeah I could tell that about you. That's why I added you as a friend long ago.

Cheers, and happy spring to you! This poem is for you.

Did you hear that winter’s over?

The basil and the carnations cannot control their
laughter.

The nightingale, back from his wandering,
has been made singing master over the birds.

The trees reach out their congratulations.
The soul goes dancing through the king’s doorway.

Anemones blush because they have seen the rose naked.

Spring, the only fair judge, walks in the courtroom,
and several December thieves steal away,

Last year’s miracles will soon be forgotten.
New creatures whirl in from non-existence,

galaxies scattered around their feet.
Have you met them?

Do you hear the bud of Jesus crooning in the cradle?
A single narcissus flower has been appointed

Inspector of Kingdoms.

A feast is set.
Listen: the wind is pouring wine!
Love used to hide inside images: no more!
The orchard hangs out its lanterns.
The dead come stumbling by in shrouds.

Nothing can stay bound or be imprisoned.
You say, “End this poem here,
and wait for what’s next.”

I will.

Poems are rough notations for the music we are.
