My top 10 countdown: Reasons to vote Kerry this year.

Ok, it's one day until the election. I've decided to wait until now to counter all the BS propaganda. With my own.

So, in the spirit of edsinger, I will now inundate you all with a bunch of propaganda, from the other side of the fence. You'll thank me in the morning, though, i promise.

But, in the spirit of ATS, and freedom to surf the web, I'll just make one thread of all-inclusive, Republican-bashing propaganda, all at your very fingertips.

Now...where to start.


The war on terror:

Well, there's alot to look at here.

Were the Iraqis involved with 9/11?
No. It's been proven.

Reason 1

Saddam didn't so much as offer OBL tea and f'ing crumpets, let alone any WMDs.

Corruption in the upper echelons:

Yeah, corruption. The Republicans in control are about as corrupt as Windows ME with the blaster worm.

Thanks loki for that countdown I know you took your time to get all that information, very interesting when you confront people with the truth they tend to ignore, I bet edsinger will replay shortly.

You know how much campaign he is doing for bush around here.

When I looked at the title I thought, "Hey, maybe someone actually DOES have reasons why they like Kerry!". Of course, I was let down again. All of your reasons for supporting Kerry are just reasons why we shouldn't vote for Bush. You should change your title to "My Top 10 Countdown: Reasons not to vote Bush this year". Another one of these threads, another day. It's been done to death, I don't know why it's here again.

i will not support a party that is for wealth distribuition. i will not support a party that wants to ask france if its ok to kick some bad guy ass. i will not suport a party who wants a society free of moral consequence.

hell i wont support any party. george washing said in his last address as presidnet "dont form political parties." and what did we do? hes probally turing in his freaking grave! good job every body!

Why do we need a reason to like Kerry? Millions don't, but the hatred for Bush is so strong they are voting Kerry because he isn't owned by the Oil Businesses.

You need a reason to like Kerry because simple hatred will resolve nothing but the furthering of political deterioration that has claimed the Democrats and Republicans.

From the top debates to the local coverage of candidates for the House, etc, all we hear is the same sound bit garbage from both sides. There is no thought and effort into changing things for the long run, but simply maintaining the struggling country we have here.

We are burdened with our own weight, which is a problem neither side will touch, but let's talk about more social spending, more military action, more programs, departments, jobs, economy, subsidies, taxes, when it could be fixed with some real effort.

No one wants to rock the boat, so you'd better have a damn good reason to do it.

If you'll re-read what I wrote, you'll find that I never once claimed that these were my reasons to love Kerry.

I claimed that they were the 10 reasons I was voting for him: IE: Voting for change.

Well, the Republican party doesn't distibute wealth, it hordes it for the rich. You support this? Either you're very rich or you have NO concept of how this proccess works.

As far as wealth distribution, it's a vestigial fear left over from McCarthyism, wherein anyone who is 'liberal' with a new plan to make things more acceptable to more people, they are unconsciously labeled as 'commie', and are therefore evil, and voila, we're stuck at McCarthyism.

It's stupid, IMHO.

Why should i help the poor people who have no houses and no food and cant afford a decent education for their kids and cant get decenty medical attention... i want another SUV, and i want more money than i can use so people will ike and respect me and I want another house so when i go away for one week in the summer i have somewhere to stay (of course i wont use it for the other 51 weeks of the year)... because as long as i have money i'm a good person and everything will be ok... Thats whats wrong with improving the human condition... that would just be fair, and greedy republicans just dont like being fair... just being rich

This document outlines the proposed changes to our policies, so that the failures of the Bush administration are rectified.

Here are some of the more notable ones.

1. Education.

From the Kerry/Edwards Platform;

John Kerry and John Edwards will establish a National Education Trust Fund to ensure that schools always get the funding they need. They will also ensure that No Child Left Behind works for schools, states, and teachers by rewarding those who meet higher standards and rewarding schools that turn around and improve.

From the Bush/Cheney Platform:

Please note:

The bottom line is that the "No child left behind Act" has been woefully underfunded these last four years, with all funds that it has been deprived of, going to military spending. Can we trust President Bush when he says he will reform a program that he himself created and then allowed to be underfunded?

2. Health Care

From the Kerry/Edwards Platform:

To make affordable health care a right - not a privilege - for every American, John Kerry and John Edwards will:

Cut Your Premiums
John Kerry and John Edwards will cut family premiums by up to $1,000. That's $1,000 in real savings people can use to buy groceries, pay the bills, and save for their children's future. And that will mean more jobs and more competitive American businesses.

Cover All Americans With Quality Care
The Kerry-Edwards plan will give every American access to the range of high-quality, affordable plans available to members of Congress and extend coverage to 95 percent of Americans, including every American child. Their plan will also fight to erase the health disparities that persist along racial and economic lines, ensure that people with HIV and AIDS have the care they need, end discrimination against Americans with disabilities and mental illnesses, and ensure equal treatment for mental illness in our health system.

Cut the Cost of Prescription Drugs
The Kerry-Edwards plan will reduce prescription drug prices by allowing the re-importation of safe prescription drugs from Canada, overhauling the Medicare drug plan, ensuring low-cost drugs, and ending artificial barriers to generic drug competition.

Cut Waste And Inefficiency
Today, approximately 25 percent of health care costs are wasted on paperwork and administrative processing. The Kerry-Edwards plan harnesses American ingenuity to cut waste, save billions, and take new steps to ensure patient privacy.

*as an interesting side note, there was more info about Kerry on GOP.com than there was about Bush. It wasn't factual, but hey, it was there.


These are the two most interesting issues to me, so they are the ones that I'm forming my election decision on. And in reference to what I've referred to as lies, I refer to the knowledge that President Bush has blocked import of Inexpensive Canadian drugs. Because, as he puts it, he wants to make sure they don't kill you, but cure you.

Quick editorial question: When was the last time a Canadian died from Canadian perscription meds? (Barring inappropriate use or allergic reaction?)

This is rediculous. You can make the opposition look bad all you want, but it escapes truth, and the truth is is that we would be better off by annexing huge portions of the government, to include a majority of Social Programs.

Allowing people to live in a fruitful time does not include handouts, it does not include government dependancy, it does not include huge tax bills and oceans of red tape for companies and small business to trudge through to make a buck.

If we allow the community and the economy to do the work, no one has to pay for others unless they choose to.

And to say that we can't trust people to help others is not an excuse to take someone's money to use poorly for the "betterment" of others.

That is a fallacy that can not be made true in a country the size of America.

Yeah, I read them, nothing new. Same clips. I wondered what you think they would actually do.

I'm just wondering if you think these programs will work? Personally it seems pretty obvious that further government intervention will only hamper growth and create a stalemate for America.

More taxes. More Waste. More socialistic aproach to governance. That means big problems.

What is worse?

An attempt and failure?

Or the lack of a backbone to the point where the only thing you can offer up to the public is a plate full of hot bull# and lies?

Rally round, for it is time to select a new leader for our country.

You've slung all the mud you could, and talked all the trash you needed.

We won't have a chance like this for another four years.


But when does the constant mud-slinging and name-calling have an actual effect on the man?

Never.

Please, respect other peoples' right to a peaceful polling place. Chances are that nobody who shows up to their local schoolhouse to vote is undecided, so please, let them do what they've come to do.

No amount of backbiting and name-calling will change their minds now, so just give it up.
