LMAO!!! So now Syria is not going to respond because according to them, the Israeli strike was retaliatory:

In a televised interview Monday, Syrian Defense Minister Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij indicated that Syria may not be planning to retaliate at all. He said Israel attacked the research center near Damascus because rebels were unable to capture it. He called the rebels Israel's "tools."

He was asked by Syrian state TV why Damascus does not retaliate against Israel.

"The Israeli enemy retaliated. When the Israeli enemy saw that its tools are being chased and did not achieve any (of their) goals, they interfered," he responded. "It was a response to our military acts against the armed gangs," al-Freij added. "The heroic Syrian Arab Army, which proved to the world that it is a strong army and a trained army, will not be defeated."

Like I said a long time ago.

All talk and then when they get a punch in the face, what do they do? legitimize it instead of retaliate.

Only tough if there are 14 of them beheading a child,or sniping a woman.

They will all get the day. rest assured.

They obv NEED to justify the strike. They cant look completely impotent in the eyes of their muslim brothers, and they simultaneously made israel look bad in they eyes of those same people.

If they pop israel with any kind of actual retaliation they will be slapped around like a red headed step child. Israel wants to provoke them so they can be the helpless victim. Again.

The Syrian Government is using the strike to label the Rebels as cohorts/stooges of Israel....thus making them enemies of all Arabs/Muslims.....it's an isolation tactic....are you with the Rebels ? then you must be with the Israeli's.

Politicians doing what politicians do...

The Syrians know that the strike by Israel actually unites all Syrians against a common enemy.....and if the Israeli's think they're going to create a 10 mile buffer into Syria on the Golan Heights you can expect the revolution to be postponed until further notice.

Iran is trying to spread the same lie and illusion.

(from link above)...

A top Iranian official visiting Damascus said Monday that Israel will regret its "latest aggression" on Syria and urged the entire Muslim world to be ready to defend the Syrian people.

These statements are only trying to deflect from the fact that the war in Syria is all about Sunnis vs. Shiites, moderates vs. extremists. Iran's speaking a bunch of rhetoric because they know they are next on the Sunni Muslim list to convert. If Iran can use these events to try and rally the Sunnis and Shiites together, they might get to stand a little bit longer. "defend the Syrian people" (from Israel), LOL! Who do they think they are kidding?

Israel won't need to.

The Muslim extremists will do it for them, just like in Syria.

Syria wouldn't attack Israel unless it had all its eggs in one basket. Not only that, they are not as stupid as to assume a war with Israel would simply be a war with Israel, it would be something far far bigger than the slapping of a red headed step child as someone so eloquently put it. If anything this is Israel testing the waters, pushing buttons. One of these days it's going to step over the line, and then we are all screwed.

What could they do? They can't retaliate against Israel or Israel would bomb them and the FSA could finish the job. They can't fight two wars right now and they can't give Israel an excuse to enter the war against them.
