I'm pretty sure it was an accident. The announcers said it was a power surge. Probably someone unplugged the wrong thing while striking the half time rig.

I assume the lights are big arc- sodium lamps, that take 20 minutes to reach full lumens.

I have no proof, but do I have close to 20 years experience of working large concerts venues including stadiums, ball fields etc.

Wonder what caused the surge??? Any ideas...
