Numbers and statistics are just data and someone once said "If you torture the data long enough you can make it confess to anything".

I offer you absolute proof. It is your decision as to what is being proved, the end of the world or the silliness of numerology.

2012: End of the World!

The factors of 2012 are: 1, 2, 4, 503, 1006, and 2012.

And 1006 is the year of the brightest supernova ever recorded.

And 503 is the error code that means "server unavailable."

And 4 refers to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Thus, the world will end in 2012.

When you say "mathematical proof" I do not think it means what you think it means.

Numerology != proof. Of anything. So it's as valid as any other 2012 lunacy I suppose.

At least there's this: one more day and it's over. No more yap yap about 2012.

But there was also something else proved. That some people cannot take the time to read and fully understand something satirical before posting even sillier comments.

That was a great find. Someone got really creative with the old song "Carol of the Bells". And the mention of the solstice at the end was the perfect touch to tie it in with the 12/21/2012 madness.
